Was it three good signings? We have brought in 700 players it seems, you made a never ending list costing us 80 Million €, no?
You know that 3/4 of them are youth team players ;)

I think you said Vidal, Lichtsteiner and Pirlo were good, a couple of others average, Pepe and Motta useless. You also didn't mention Matri and Quagliarella.

Like I said before, July was promising enough with good players brought in to suit our system (Licht, Vucinic, Vidal and Pirlo) Ziegler is an "OK" signing nothing special and Pazienza is just crap. But luckily he's a bench player.

This August has been nothing short of disastrous. We have done absolutely nothing until today (!) have barely sold any players and the only players signing with us are the likes of Giaccherini and Estiwhateverhisnameis. Marotta is repeating the same panic buys he did last season, only this time the quality clearly isnt as good.

Don't apologize.

I sense the frustration, and to be honest I didn't want Giaccherini or Estigi whatever his name is. I'm frustrated too, but I don't resort to name calling or insulting anyone else's intelligence, either.

If Pepe ends up leaving (I HOPE and Pray that happens), Then these two signings make some sense, if and ONLY IF, another LW is brought aboard. Estigiwhatever his name is will be in the backup LW role, and Giaccherini will be in a backup role for LW, RW, and forward.

Now, this means Paquato is probably going somewhere on loan, which I am not too cool with. Although I am unsure as to what type of player he will become, he should at least get somewhat of a chance to play at Juve this season.

But, if this is it for the LW signings, then Marotta has fucked this up so royally that I can't see Juve honoring the remaining year of his contract.

For his sake, there better be another LW coming on board, be it Elia, Perotti, or Vargas.

Is there any sense in replacing Pepe and Martinez with these two unknown unpronounceable no-names? July had some promise, but as B_Aus said August has been nothing but a disaster

At the time we offered 35 for Aguero, we already had Lich,Vidal. Since then we bought Vucinic (17m over 3 years.)
So there must be like ~25 for one more big signing... Rossi being the obvious option.
Only problem then is that we might have to use a Quag/Storari to land a LW (Vargas/Malouda) but overall, how can you be upset with this...

------- Rossi --- Vucinic-------
Malou/Vargas--------------Krasic
------Vidal------Pirlo-----------
DC---Chiellini--Alvez----Licht
----------Buffon-----------

Giacherinni is a far more complete player than Pepe is, so that part of it, provided they get another LW, makes perfect sense. This other guy, I don't know him at all.

As far as Martinez is concerned, I supported the move when he was brought over last year. I thought he was a good/ borderline very good player who brought some different characteristics to the team, and I liked his versatility in playing out wide in a 4-4-2, up front in a 4-3-3, or as a support striker. I still like him as a player, and multiple injuries robbed him of any chance of proving his worth last year.

I don't think he fits Conte's mold of what he is looking for in a player.

I didn't mention Matri and Quagliarella because I like them and my judgement would be clouded but in fact both are not needed. As I said several times already, we are stuck now with 7 forwards, 3 of which are pretty much useless and on a high wage bill.
