so you actually think we can financially compete against the likes of city both in transfer fee and wages? right... ok good night!
Wait, what? Did I even say that? Nobody can compete with City but its not stopping other teams from making good signings. Stop fuckin' thinking City will be on every players on this earth. Its not like City will be there on every damn signing we make. They don't want Mata, they don't want Pastore, they didn't want Santi Cazorla. All of those are players that would immediately make us so much stronger. The appropriate money for players like that is there and the club still has its name. Now somebody has to go out and get it done and get them here. Because really, you thought Marotta didn't know what players like Aguero and Higauin would cost us when he was talking about them and saying we want players like that?

no sir, you dont get it! if it is not city, it is madrid, if it is not madrid it is someone else. WE CANNOT FINANCIALLY COMPETE WITH THE LIKES OF CITY WHO WILL ALWAYS RAISE THE STAKES HIGHER THAN OUR OWN FINANCIAL CONSTRAINTS!

now is that so hard to understand? i bolded it, put it in italics, and underlined it just incase!

in the past we spent a huge chunk of our budget on the likes of Diego and Melo, neglecting other positions, look how well that idea turned out!
let me rephrase that for the idiots, they might understand it like this

we offer 40 mil and 6 mil wages for aguero
city offers 45 mil(buyout reached) and 7 mil wages
we reach 45 mil buyout, sell amauri and offer 10.5 mil wages
city remains at 45mil and offers 20mil wages
we sell our entire team, offer 45 mil and 25 mil wages
city has a laugh, remains at 45 mil and offers 40 mil wages

the same situation for mata, hazard, aguero, and any other player wanted by a topclub funded by a sugar daddy like man city

when you know a club wants the same player, and has significant higher budget and prospects, its useless to enter a bidding war you are bound to lose

I was talking about "a point of diminishing returns"... but hey. Fool yourself, just don't fool others! Yeah - Di Maria, Coentrao, Neymar, Ronaldo, Ozil, Next-Guy-With-Boots ... they will all compete for 2 or 1 position. I get it. So do you it seems... ... And Madrid can do that, but we can't. I got that as well. And we want to compete for the same trophies? Or we don't? Because I didn't get that.
the bold part, in italic, the one that is underlined must be an example of paranoia, I assume. Or just some Marottism/Morattism that has been seeded by Marotta/our board in their official excuses and people like you here in this forum. Just don't buy it. Do the maths if you can and if you can't listen to the wise advice: Don't act like a parrot! The fact that someone told you so, doesn't make it true. Judge people by their actions rather than their words.
About Diego and Melo - its a completely different story and we are getting way off topic. But Melo would cost us around 10 mils and was arguably one of the better mids for the years we've got him. Lets say he underachieved, but we were never scared when we see him in the starting line-up.

Milan spent their money on quality like Zlatan and Robinho neglecting other positions like central midfield and their fullbacks and look how that turned out for them!

With Licht and Vidal this team is good. What we clearly need is a game changing player who could be considered our superstar, a guy who can make something out of nothing. Our own improved Del Piero.

Man are you like this all the time or you've just swollen a pill now? We have the 7th best team in Italy last year and we are the top club in that country, you realize that right? We've had a cash injection in the vicinity of 1/3 the cost of one of the Milanese clubs. Do you think they are richer than us?
And the talk of having no sugar daddy? Are you a fan of Juventus from 2 days or just ignorant? Sugar daddy or investment will - doesn't matter - we've got some resources and if we don't a partner that has them is in order.
Finally - the richer clubs can't distort their salary structures much as well. Otherwise it has some side effects, that could easily quadruple the expenses for them. You've got a squad member with this salary - well the starter ain't gonna get less, right? We need starters. LW for sure. So don't chicken out in front of the thought of us getting Nani, Hazard or Mata. We can do it and if we had the brains we would have done it.

You've completely missed the point of why Agüero will be more attractive to the biggest spending clubs than someone like Jovetic.
He thinks even City would go until the skies and offer anything to get any player in the world. What he probably doesn't know is that Aguero has already WC statute (despite his age), whilst players like Hazard, Jovetic and Mata simply haven't that statute.

Krasic is here to prove we still have better things than the likes of City, so until we try, we'll never know if a player is willing to join us.

Here's a new for you Badass, some guy called Pastore made a weird choice picking PSG instead of Chelsea. Probably for you, Krasic made a weird choice picking us instead of City. Ribery picked a EL Bayern back in the time. You simply never know if you'll be beaten by the likes of City in the market (YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW IF THEY WILL MAKE AN OFFER!). Some guys are worthy of trying and the transfer market is made of opportunities. City and Real won't have +30 players in their squads. Money isn't everything (we don't have CL and that's the main factor for an eventual lost, but, like I said, sometimes players make weird choices).

I'm just saying we could get those hot youngsters if we really wanted them, but that doesn't seem the case.

im not even using man city as the only culprits, they are simply a example, hence why i said "teams like man city"

by that im talking about chelsea, madrid, man city, psg, even malaga in a couple of seasons will be up there.

Some say that guy is gonna be Vučinić :boh:

I think what this team really miss is a "quality" left winger.

Totalling €267m, the top 20 comprises of both remarkable bargains and deals to make the eyes water, with three players moving for no fee and the likes of Aguero and Sanchez edging close to the €40m mark.

Averaging €13.35m per deal, the list represents excellent value when taking into account the quality of individuals that it possesses. That said, with the window entering its final month, don't be surprised to see prices hit their peak in the coming weeks as clubs desperately scramble to improve their respective squads.

--------------
Not every team there is PSG, Mallaga or Manchester City as we can see.

Chelsea are owned by a rich guy if you didn't happen to know that already... and yet they lost him for a smaller club that plays in a smaller league.
I guess Abramovic thought:
If I offer 100 mils and 10 salaries, the arabs will do 110, 11
me 110, 11 -> arabs 150, 15 ... and so on.
So he just gave up, because he had just 20 billions and the owners of PSG had 21 billions. No way to win it, Abramovic...

Didn't Krasic pick us over City last season ?

Yeah money is a big factor but not every player picks a team "only" for money. Bayern munich would've offered Vidal CL for sure if he went there yet the guy wanted to come here, playing for a club that have uncertain future.

why is it people choose to forget that players earn wages? look at the top earners in the game, and try and see where Juve are at? if we add vidal, pirlo, licht, vucinic wages together, it would barely match Aguero pre tax and would cost us less than Aguero in the transfer fee, yet they improve the team overall, more so than Aguero would alone.

and how many world class players out there would pick club over money?

sure there are players like krasic and vidal, but they arn't exactly world class names, nobody in my office even knew those 2 till i mentioned them, as excellent as they are in their own right, they no way come close to the calibre to the Aguero's, messi's and Ronaldo's of this world who are global brands
