He has all the qualities to be that....he drives forward very well and has a tough side to him.

thing is, what we need for the midfield, really depends on the formation conte is going to play


we need to keep our coach for at least a few years and allow him to build out a CL competitive squad.

Agreed on a coach staying. My concern is, Pirlo "could" be our ace providing he has the right support around him, and muscle. Is Vidal going to be this cuz unless Melo stays or another tough DM arrives I am a bit worrried about getting beat up in the middle.

For numerous reason, Pirlo needs to have strong bodies around him and I don't think Sissoko should step close to our starting 11 anymore. The sooner he goes the better. As far as Melo, if he stays that's fine, but we need a guy that can run all day and if Vidal is this then great and Melo can be the support allowing Pirlo the time to pin point his passes.

I still can't imagine Vidal being someone like Hamsik who is more of a complete midfielder IMO. As alen said, he has the brains and that gives him the edge over Vidal.

I still think we need an Ace. If Milan sign Hamsik and Inter Banega then we can pretty much expect to lose the midfield battles at least 4 times a year unless we sort something out.

See my post before this. I am agreeing with Alen in the sense Hamsik would give us a bigger step forward than Vidal. Vidal is good, but in a tactically sound league in Italy you have to be a smarter player, rather than one that just runs a lot.
