I don't see why we won't be able to sign at least one expensive superstar in the summer. by letting go of the likes of toni (3m plus 3m in taxes), iaq (3m and 3m in taxes) amauri 4m plus 4m in taxes) and Grosso (1.5m plus 1.5 in taxes), we will have cleared some estimated 23 million in our wage budget! and these were players we didn't even use.

even if we offer someone like Jovetic 6 or 7mill in wages (12-14 with taxes) and say Cavani or Hamisk the same thing, that would be around the 28 million mark. just a bit more than the amount we spent on those useless players, we could get 2 players that would make a difference in this team.

add to that the revenue from playing in the CL from being in it, increased match attendance, and new sponsorship deals, we should be in a pretty good position to sign atleast one superstar, or two even with competition from other teams.

and that's what this team needs. a world class signing or two to give us that extra edge. with the exception of a back up defender and maybe a back up CM, this squad is very deep. There is no reason why we can't focus on getting the classy signings this summer.

All good points and it's not that we could, but have to sign only quality now. Now we just need WC signings to make the difference and those who can decide the match. We got rid of the deadwood and with the eventual CL spot it's a great opportunity for us to sign a star, if not two. IMO, those stars should be taken from Serie A and weaker teams, players like Jovetic, Cavani (like you mentioned), no need to go aboard at this point.

Jovetic should be our priority. After him, a RW to replace Pepe.

If we win the Scudetto I would be shocked to see us fail to sign a big name. Our bench is filled, Marotta has even basically said as much, we will be in CL and have a lower wage budget by like 30M.

Not to forget Krasic, Melo and Ziegler will generate us at least €20 mill.
it would be nice if we get that much, but atleeast they also clear up room in the wage budget. same with not havign to pay for esti (hope we don't sign him) and i think Maninnger's contract also expires in summer (about 1.6m with taxes included in wages)

yeah, we really need to just go for quality now. it's painfully obvious that our attack is our weakest point this season so priority has to go towards fixing that.

Agreed with Jovetic. We need him as an upgrade over Vucinic

Some good points here. I still don't think we'll be giving out wages of 6 / 7 million euros per season to any new player arriving, but who knows.

Anyway, next mercato :tuttosport:

Melo's option is set at €13 mill with Galatasaray. Fener already said that if Gala doesn't take that option on him, then Fener will sign him for that price. I think we might squeeze out €7-10 mill for Krasic as well, leaving Ziegler for couple of mills. Maybe couple of mills for Pazienza as well?

Do you think we'll play 3-5-2 next season? That would change our transfer plans drastically. We'd stick with Lich on the right and rotate him with Pepe while we'd probably go after a LWB and some kick ass striker. But I hate that formation and I hope we won't do that. 4-3-3 is the way to go IMO.

we probably won't give it to any random guy, but we might have to if we get competition, as it is most likely, when we go for star players.

not every situation is a vidal or krasic one where they are desperate for us. we are going to have to open our wallets.

This is why i will wait until summer. I want to see what Marotta and Conte can do with a clear big budget, and the promise of CL football.

Nah. I think 4-3-3 will be the way to go, and i think conte knows it too. I do like this 3-5-2 as an alternate though. shows we are flexible and can adapt to different teams. if you look at top winning teams, you will see there are no teams that employ the 3-5-2 as a regular formation. it's only serie b sides like Napoli and Udinese that like to do that.

Agree with InderDestroyer Lineup on previous page and what baggio said.

Would love to see a WC winger signed as well, but i'm pretty sure the our TOP signing will be striker.
the winger being Ramirez/Gio type players.
I guess our no' 1 target will be Higuain.
If we won't make it then Jojo/Lavezzi/Rossi(in that order i hope) will be also options.
Signing 1 good LB should not be a problem with options like Kolarov/Cissokho.(or Ziegler comeback?naaa)
Ramirez and/or Gio are likely deals imo.

I'm pretty sure Giac,Caceres & Esti all will be signed.Pepe staying.
Hope that Borriello is not!

Imo Elia,Krasic,Pazienza,Motta,IQ,Melo will be sold.
Manninger and Grosso out of contracts.

Indeed, all serious coaches play with 4 at the back. Nice to have as an alternative, though, like you said. When it can serve a purpose.

Don't forget to add how much we will make from stadium revenue. Hell, we are damn near selling out Coppa games as well. Does anyone have a figure how many games we would play next year, the minimum? (all league games, Coppa games, and let's say for shits and giggles the group stages plus knockouts, just wondering if we would make it past that) How many games? And how much revenue would we pull in?

Yeah no doubt about that, I just hope we keep 4-3-3 as the priority.

Buffon

Licht - Barzagli - Chiellini - Pereira

Vidal - Pirlo - Marchisio

Lavezzi - Matri - Jovetic

Don't know much about the LB, but the rest is just amazing.

If we only have enough to sign one superstar for attack who would you guys pick?

We need a world class goal scorer but also someone for SS who could create and score goals out of nothing.
Neymar.
