Has Marotta been snoozing these last couple of weeks, or is he actually doing something? I'm sure anyone could sign Boriello in their sleep so I would not count that as a wake-up call.

Is he trying to getting any deals done or just trolling around?

He's working on various things, with a view to signing a midfielder (Guarin, Pizarro, Behrami) and a defender (Caceres, Bocchetti).

Gazzetta was reporting he was meeting with Guarin's agent today, I believe.

there are various players around, that could be interesting

he is checking the market, meeting with clubs, managers, checking out players etc

caceres ? he was on it till sevilla asked a stupid price, so he let it go, good.
bonucci might be a "bonehead", he is decent in big games, and we still got league's best defence, so its not that big of a deal.
marotta is merely checking if there is an addition for the right price

guarin ? he's working on it, however, its not a galliani that reports everything to the newspapers. seems deal is close
