He's 32 ffs.
Lampard is 33 if i'm not wrong and he plays for a Premier league team 2 times a week and no one says shit like that.
Get your head out of your asses.
We do need to rest him some games and all that shit but it's not because he is too old/past his prime/injury-prone. It's because every player no matter how old needs to recover after a some time to be able to perform at his best.

To be fair, he's decent. If he came really cheap as a backup, meh, so be it, though I'd rather get a younger player with more talent / potential or a really good established player. Those obviously cost more, but having Pazienza and to lesser extend Marrone, and soon Appelt(?), as backup seems plenty of a solid base to build on...


To build on with quality, that is. Montolivo is more of a 'quantity' player, if you know what I mean.

Probably need 5 for a Real Madrid level squad.
Defense: Hummels and Ansaldi
Mid: Would rather an AM (Ramirez). Marchisio and Vidal can drop deep to replace Pirlo.
Attack: Being realistic. JoJo and Shaqiri/Giovinco at best
