I am wondering if its possible that Juve could go for both Van Persie and Cavani.

Press is saying that Van Persie could cost only EU25m. Lets say Cavani costs EU30m. Thats 55m. But clearly Matri could be for sale - 13-15m is possible for him. Elia and Krasic would net us close to 20m in total. If we offer Giovinco to Napoli, we could get 8m for our 50% if not more. You are talking 40-45m in proceeds to help pay the 55m in transfer fees for Van Persie and Cavani. That is net 10m. Quagliarella will likely stay which leaves room for one more striker. Either Conte gets a cut price deal for Borriello (say 6m) or gets another striker on a Bosman - like Drogba or Kalou.

Midfield. We can sell Melo for 10m, Pazienza and Padoin could net us 8m in total. We have 18m in proceeds. Giaccherini's buy out would be around 3m. We get Pogba for free. Word is talk of us only buying 50% of Verratti for around 5m. Net on midfield thus far is net proceeds of 10m. We could use that to buy a Naingollan or Asamoah for 10m and end up square.

Defense we still need to buy out Caceres for 7m. But no reason to rock the boat here. Either we get bowman signings or loan deals because we just need back ups not starters.

So in the end, the net cost is only around 10m. However, the wage bill will go up a lot. DP was only earning 1m a season whereas RVP would get 7m. Cavani would probably get 5m a season. That together with extra squad players probably means our wage bill would be ~20m higher than last season.

But what a squad!

Buffon, Storari, Manninger (or other keeper)
Lichsteiner, Caceres, Bonucci, Barzagli, Chiellini, New CB (bosman or loan), De Ceglie, New LB (bosman or loan)
Vidal, Pirlo, Marchisio, Pogba, Asamoah, Verrati, Giaccherini, Marrone, Pepe
Vucinic, Van Persie, Cavani, Borriello, Quagliarella

That would be a lot of money for 1 position, I prefer to get Suarez in stead of RVP for the same amount of money. Younger, better suited on the right.
Yeah that's the thing, RVP isn't suited for RW. However you could easily swap RVP for Suarez since Liverpool is interested in both Krasic & Elia apparently.

If only life was like FM :touched:

I feel like +repping everyone since I'm jubilant after our amazing season (Scudetto, undefeated in 43 games - stretching back to last season and Copa games this season). Isn't there a Rep All button/function? :D

Suarez's market value is not that big a difference actually - he might be 5-10m cheaper at most but he is not a good finisher - talented YES.

Van Persie and Cavani are real class. Having them start and having Vucinic and a Borriello or Quags on the bench would be great.

Suarez is more versatile and can be deployed as a RWF in a 4-3-3 or as an SS in a 3-5-2. He'd definitely be more useful than RVP/Cavani if we acquire one or the other.

Apart from the past two years, van Persie's goal scoring stats are hardly impressive. He only scored so much the past two years being a deep striker. Would you put him in the centre of a3-man attack? Because I think Cavani would do just as well as him but Suarez is better than both of them as RW, I think. Besides Suarez has scored a lot for Ajax in the past as well, and maybe the lack of goals this season was because of Liverpools overall lack of actually playing decent

I think if we manage to get any of Cavani, Higuain or Dzeko we should still keep Matri. Given his grand tally of 10 goals this season, lack of international selection and Marotta's inability to sell players at a decent price I think the most we'd get for him is 10m-12m. Considering we paid 18m for him this is a bad loss. Sending Boriello back to Roma is probably cheaper. Seeing as we will need a back-up to any of those three mentioned at the begining of my post and the fact that we will be expected to fight on three fronts next year, selling Matri would be a bag idea in my opinion.

Yeah, its easy to sell players on secco wages tripple what anyone would offer them, so they want to stay

Hey I never said it was easy it that I could do a better job, just pointing out the record. Either way I just don't thin selling Matri is a good idea. we WON'T recoup the money we payed for him, he IS better than Boriello and we need to look raising the total quality of the squad and a squad with Cavani/Higuain/Dzeko & Matri > a squad with Cavani/Higuain/Dzeko & Boriello
