Kante is not a btb midfielder. He's either a DM in 4-3-3 or double pivot in 4-2-3-1. He doesn't have the technique, physical presence, finishing, last pass to be a more advanced midfielder. Sarri was heavily criticized for using him as btb last year and he struggled this year under Lampard when played there.

Well we have Matuidi so no - no immediate need but Matuidi is old and Kante is way better so even if its not for this year - Kante is indeed needed here...
Pogba - Even a blind man could sense we are missing him.. When Pogba leaved our mid immediately became much weaker and we havent recovered from it yet as Pjanic is good but I remember the amount of pressure put on Pogba here and he handled it very well (despite a weak start)...

Still hoping for the dream midfield of Pjanic Pogba Kante (or someone at least as good instead of Pjanic) - I can always hope but there are slim chances that we are going to have such a strong midfield in the next few years...

Spending huge money on Kante and then playing him btb is just a waste IMO. Sarri won't play him as DM, he needs a regista.

We missed an incredible opportunity this summer with Ndombele and Barella. For the money and wages we gave De Ligt and Rabiot our mid would've been sorted out for a long time.
