I wouldn't say so, but PL football often ends up becoming breathless and rushed in midfield.
Thats a pretty thin argument. Class players will be able to hold the ball and orchestrate, regardless where they are playing. Even in the ambience of the British Monkey/Mongrell/Orangutang style of football that lacks intelligence. Coutinho, Silva, KDB and Hazard are killing that league with trickery and quality. Can is not on that level.

Doesn't Can play a completely different position than each of those players?

Sure. That wasn't the point here anyway, but lets take other players in similar position or role that excel in that league: Matic, Fernandinho, Kante, hell, even Yaya Toure had great passing/distribution combined with his physical attributes.

Can is nowhere near that level. Not saying he is useless, just not anywhere near being a great player at the moment. Maybe Max will transform him, who knows.

Can also doesn't play the same role as those players.

Might as well compare him to Vincent Kompany.

I think you are really underestimating Can - Yes he isnt exactly Verratti but he is a good player..

Talking about underrating now you are overrating.. Coutinho is probably the most overrated player in the world! Yes he is good but the media makes him a Dybala while Dybala is clearly much better than Coutinho..
Coutinho scored a lot in CL - yeah because they played the easiest group ever - The thing is he can also play a bit behind which can be really good but in terms of player vs player Dybala is a much better player IMO

Not the point, he is still not good enough when you compare him to players in the same position.

Im not saying he is bad. Just not great. Coutinho might be overrated, sure, but he is still arguably Liverpool's most important player (along with Salah this season)

Can is playing very well and any time hes in the pitch instead of donkey Henderson Liverpool look like a proper tittle contender.
He can play as midfielder and in the back three.
Lets not pretend our midfielders are better than Can.

Can in midfield is a good move to add a bit of mettle in there. He's also not a bad passer of the ball. A talking player that can initiate an attack? I'll take it.

Can is solid, but nothing much to write home about imo. He is better than Henderson, holly-molly, that's a damn achievement. Can surely adds depth, might (and probably will) start here, but we need someone better alongside Miralem. Great man should do his magic :beppe:

Can and Lirola in. Lichtsteiner and maybe Sturaro out.

The guy we should be targeting though is Torreira. I believe he has a 25m release clause. Wouldn’t even require a negotiation with Samp
