Napoli hardly represents majority of serie A in terms of pace and play. They truly are an exception.
it's their pace that makes them stand out.
btw this year, a surprising number of serie a clubs use 2 wingers:
- roma with salah and el shaarawy/perotti, in either 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1
- sassuolo with berardi (he was out injured for most season so far, though), politano, ragusa, 4-3-3 all the way
- torino with falque and ljajic, also 4-3-3 all season
- lazio with felipe anderson and keita
- inter with candreva and perisic
etc
in fact, 4-3-3 was the most used formation in serie a for the 6th season in a row. it's just serie a clubs are broke and they cannot buy the fastest wingers of them all, and the pace is generally slower than in spain or england.
