We fucked up by breaking our Midfield, it's very much clear.

We could've a real powerhouse by adding a couple of pieces.

And what made us great ( Defence and midfield ) isn't there anymore, the jump in quality in the attack can't overcome the short comings we have elsewhere

Marcello Lippi believes Juventus’ “struggles” are due to not replacing their former holy trinity of midfielders Andrea Pirlo, Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba.
Pirlo, Vidal and Pogba helped Juve dominate Italy between 2012 and 2015 and reached the Champions League final last year, but the Bianconeri have since lost the trio and not been quite as forceful, with Miralem Pjanic yet to hit top gear and Lippi portraying Mario Lemina and Stefano Sturaro in a negative light.
“I can’t say why Juventus are, so to speak, struggling to handle their commitments in the Champions League and Serie A,” the former Bianconeri boss told Radio Anch’io Lo Sport.
“It isn’t set in stone when you buy great players that they adapt quickly to their new environment.
“They are changes to be managed with great difficulty for a Coach.
“Pjanic and Higuain? The arrival of great champions isn’t a given [for success]. They have to get to know their new teammates and settle first.
“After that, a very important player in Pogba left the club. Two years ago, the midfield was Pirlo-Vidal-Pogba.
“Last season, they played Lemina and Sturaro, with all due respect to them both.”

This says much

He's saying what we all know

People jizzing over our bargain zero net spend mercato's yet we've went from having a midfield that at the very least was in discussion for 'best in Europe' (AKA the World) to one that looks quite frankly shit.

:agree:
The thing is I just cant understand why our management takes that much time to see it as if we see it and am not talking about seeing it now but seeing it from the start of the season and even before the start of the season why didnt we just try to get another big name midfielder?!
From the start of the season I said Pjanic is a great player but he is not Pogba and Im sure Im not the only "genius" to know it before hand...

Now I`ll say what we all know - Our midfield isnt strong enough in terms of quality and in terms of physicality and its not going to change before the end of this season! You say Kessie - Kessie is a young talented player but young players takes time to grow and even if we get him this winter and not loan him (both wont happen) it will take time to settle
Khedira is being downplayed here but he is actually one of the only keepers in this moment of time - He isnt making bad decisions he moves very well and the only reason why he is being bashed is because he isnt the best finisher (should he got Higuain`s level of finishing he would be among the top scorers in the league)
Marchisio should definitely start every game possible as the difference in our play when he plays is just too much that even a blind man can see!
Pjanic - He isnt playing more than a mediocre player which is the problem!
Lemina - I know some here rate him like he is some kind of god but honestly he is a young player who impressed me at the start of the season but then his level dropped back - He isnt ready and shouldnt be our starter
Hernanes - Actually he is playing very well to what I expected him to but he shouldnt play that much... He should be the reserve that gets to play when there is no choice
Sturaro - We all know Sturaro - He is the kind of player who can help defensively but cant really offer anything offensively... If he isnt consider as HG he should be sold

We need 2 great midfielders (last season I said we needed 1 great one well now that Pogba is gone we need 2)
1 Great Verratti,Pogba level
2 someone who is an all rounder Khedira is ok for now but if we want to be at the very top we need someone who is even better

Best Possible scenario for this summer (not saying winter as it wont happen)
1. Vidal back - straight into our lineup
2. Verratti - straight into our lineup
3. Kessie - will start on the bench and gets more and more playing time until he could make himself first 11 material (if he can)

Marchisio Verratti Vidal supporting Pjanic - Now this would be one of europe's best midfields

we won't get verratti or vidal. dahoud or even kessié has offers from the pl, and those are not easy to match if the player isn't opposed to playing in england. i'd be very surprised if any of vidal, verratti, kessié or dahoud ended up at juve.

Well if we can't bring in that calibre of midfielder then we shouldn't have been so quick to sell them in the first place. We're about 8th in our wage bill in the world now, and our revenues keep improving. So we either invest in our midfield and yes that means occasionally outbidding a notorious BPL club or we as in our management accept this is our level going forward unless we get lucky with a youngster.

This is the problem of the 'sell if player wants out' poĺicy. If the club judges a player to be fundamental they need to make that felt. By making the player respect his contract if needs be, give appropriate salaries, etc. This is common sense.

Otherwise we're being turned into a garage sale. The position of 'challengers' in modern football is difficult, you need to stand up or else, you're going to stagnate and risk getting stomped by the best (richer) clubs.

Watch Verratti not being sold easily, PSG has balls when it comes to this.

Do we still have a free non-EU spot open for the winter window? Was watching Thiago Maia and he looks pretty promising.
Yes but we will probably use it on bentancur

Man I've said this for the last couple of years. It was evident when we sold Vidal and Brought in friggin Hernanes and sold pogba for nobody to arrive

Before signing anyone, just completely revamp the physical conditioning staff. Bonucci out for 2 months with a muscular injury.

Gotta be able to count on Juve's players first. Even that is hard right now.
