I give up, so far I don't think anyone actually read the posts. The answers are interesting but nonetheless beside the point.
If we actually sign Verratti next summer I hope the management has made preparations for the future in consideration how much we will be spending the forthcoming years on rejuvenating. We cannot splash 100m on a single player every season, that would be senseless. We have a good mix now, but the present state is escaping us and we need to plan long-term ahead. Verratti has the future ahead but if he comes at the expense of other positions we will be in trouble. I would prefer a WC LW and RB since we need to examine our defenders after the season. Finally, whatever road we take I have full confidence in our management. If they splash 100m on Verratti - I believe they have thoroughly analyzed the present and the future and what we need to win CL in the present.

We're much more in need of a midfielder than a LW or a RB

Jesus $#@!ing christ what the $#@! is this advanced nazi propaganda utter $#@! man ?

Verratti, togheter with Pogba, is the most naturally gifted CM in the world. Despite beeing 23 he allready has the increasingly extinct trait to incredibly boost his teammates around him like Scholes or Marchisio for example can. We can go to immense lenghts to describe the technical benefits he brings to any single team in the world by playing, but coupled with that very very rare trait makes him the N°1 midfield player to get right $#@!ing now.

This is the player that is actually worth 105 million without taking marketting, merchandising, dabs or hookers in regard. Not a single player brings that much.

A) we dont need no mother$#@! trequartista
B) Not a single one under 29 is remotely as impactfull aside of Pogba (when we are past january and the other midfielders arent $#@!ty the manucan $#@!)

Verratti is better at everything compared to Pjanic. Especially when it comes to defensive work, mental resillience and getting away from markers under pressure (a trait that reminds alot of Pirlo and Del Piero)
Only area where Pjanic is hands down better than Verratti is all things shooting - finishing, free kicks, long shots. Pjanic is technically incredibly, but lacks fortitude, stamina, grinta, and concentration.

so we all agree that verratti isthe one to go for if possible anyhow, but how much would we be willing to let go for ?

i do not really count on khedira because he is injured too often and for every 10 great runs he does into the box he fails to convert the chance 8 times.

if we really only have 3 spots in the midfield i would actually like to have either marchisio and lemina in a box-to-box fashion and verratti as anchor. of course we could basically remove any midfielder right now and replace him with verratti and still have improved, even though i feel that the box-to-box role is the one that would make us improve less. right now i would even let go off marchisio in favour of verratti to severely improve our midfield

and yes i deliberately ignore people that say that verratti is not really better than pjanic and that we do not need those unnecessary CMs... i mean defenders defend and strikers score goals... who needs midfielders that dont do step overs anyways ?
On occasions, Verratti does stepovers :shifty:

Also, fixed your phrase to avoid trashing.

Verratti, Marchisio, Pjanic, Khedira. And this team is without a single weakness

Free kicks (worldclass) and shooting are in Pjanic favor. Verratti goes for the passing solution.

But aside from those, not a single thing Pjanic has over verratti. And i really like Pjanic. Verratti needs to return to Juventus and become an insane star for us and the nazionale.

If Verratti could actually shoot, he'd be considered a top 3 mf in the world, unanimously

Its funny if people indirectly imply Verratti is not flashy /flair type. Stepovers is just tiny bit of the many dribbling arsenals Verratti has, he is easily one the most fearless natural dribblers I seen. He plays with the unpredictability and confidence of Ronaldinho plus tricky smooth feet of Iniesta, can embarrass half dozen defenders like a true street baller.

But since his ridiculous dribbling isn't finished with a goal, and a lot of it is done in deep positions, for some reason he doesn't get much accolades for it. But it's main reason why he is so fun to watch, besides clever vision and dictating. He even said in new interview that coaches allways try to tell him to cut it down, too risky but he doesn't want to play football in any other way. Just take his opponents on any given moment, how he enjoys the game.

I'm a massive fanboy of him, but Verratti in my opinion, is the best combination of huge flair and effectiveness around. 5 times the heartattack compared to Pirlo, but he can truely cut open a midfield by just getting out of pressure.
But verratti isnt using tricks just for the heck of it. He's excellent in chosing the right movement or trick for the right moment. And thats why i like him so much.

Remember the Barcelona game @Osman ? That insane trident just off his shoulder ? Yet going past their midfield pressure every single time. Personally : bigger impact then Zlatan

Yes, Zlatan. Take away zlatan and put cavani in the center with Lucas and something else on the left, but verratti, midfield. It will work. Put on all the starters except verratti, and they are 2 levels down.

This guy knows what's up.

He needs extra danger element to his game in final third. Otherwise ridiculous midfielder.

I think he should continue to become more skilled and effective at what he's doing, and increase his immense positive influence on the surrounding players.

Please can we not make anyone dislike Verratti now and stop with the unnecessary cocksucking?

We let PSG snatch him by refusing to cough up one more million to Pescara and now we are supposedly going to break the bank for him.
Oh yeah, I get ya, even if he was never ours, we simply didnt value him enough to bid on him, instead of him being your player and rejecting him ala Pogba.
