Arsenal propose Alexis for Pjanic?
By Football Italia staff

According to Tuttosport, Arsenal offered Alexis Sanchez to Juventus in exchange for Miralem Pjanic, but the Italians said no.

The Bianconeri interest in Sanchez goes back a very long way, even to his days at Udinese before the move to Barcelona.

As he is struggling to negotiate a new contract with the Gunners, the Chile international could be heading out this summer.

It was already noted in South American media this week that Juventus wanted to create a super-trident of Alexis Sanchez, Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain.

Tuttosport claim that Arsenal even called up Juve representatives to propose an exchange between Alexis and Bosnia international midfielder Pjanic.

However, the same report insists the Bianconeri turned it down, as they are determined to keep hold of Pjanic just six months after activating his €32m release clause from Roma.

Believed to be one of the best free kick specialists in the world right now, Pjanic has struggled to find his position in the new Juventus side.

Pjanic is a very good player who is finding his role here but I think we would be foolish not to do a swap. Sanchez is one of the best players in the world. Also it seems that Pjanic is now playing Trequartista which suits him but Sanchez is even better in that position. I know our CM is weak but if we dont play Pjanic in a CM position why not swap him?

I think we can expect some crazy signing this summer to push Jj. Maybe even Messi
I came here to ponder that. Will we try and re-invent our squad? Sounds good to me because we could use a revamp.

My heart wants to believe we will try to bring more Italians in. De Scigio, Berardi and perhaps even...you already know who it's gonna be...
Verratti?
.

Whatever happens thank God we'll still have Gigi to hold it together. My only concern is that doing yet another revamp will lessen our chances at bringing Gigi the Champions League trophy

Btw is Berardi still injured?

Promoting your brand globally requires more than a few decent Italian players. Global appeal stems from other nationalities and races being able to identify with the brand. No one gives two shits about Berardi or De Figlio outside Italy. Verratti is another matter entirely.

Lol why would we swap? Sanchez is for free after '18 :beppe:

In all seriousness, that is obviously a no go. Sanchez is a great player, one we've been after for a while, but unless we switch to a winger system it wouldn't make sense, even then, why would we weaken our ill shaped midfield just to add to what is already a strong part of our squad?

had a bad experince with Erdogan, bringing his name into every conversation?

World class midfielders are those who can 'pull a rabbit out of hat' like Pogba and while he is a good player, Marchisio is not one of them.
Pjanič is WC and Marchisio is not? Did you see the start of the season with Pjanič and without Marchisio and what happened when Claudio returned? Your definition might be useful for SS or attacking wingers, but a midfielder is much more than a few moments of brilliance

So are we going to rewrite history and only give the world class status to offensive minded midfielders? Sucks for guys like Matthaus, Rijkaard, Keane, Makelele, Deschamps, Davids, Dunga and others who at the very least were decent although they weren't able to to 'pull a rabbit out of a hat' like Pogba.
