Another good midfielder we let get away. First Tonali, then Fratessi. No let's get Weah instead :sergio:
To be fair, we needed a RWB and were stacked at the time with CMs (Fagioli, Loca, McKennie, Pogba, Rabiot, Miretti, Hans, and so on...). Easy in hindsight to say, albeit we still need that type of player. After the Inter fiasco I remain a bit hesitant though. I really don't want another Dybala entourage. It's enough with Rabiot's mother.
But yeah, in hindsight, Weah has contributed about as much as a healthy MDS and we're out of two CMs that we hoped would fill that gap. That Pogba would be out almost the entire year was expected but not due to being a complete idiot even though the signs have been there for years. Fagioli was the unexpected one (and one that I really want to see in Loca's role rather than a mezzela).

McKennie is a better RWB than CM, we knew that back then too. It's not hindsight, plenty of people wanted Frattesi here. It was clear he could have helped the team a lot.

Better to go into a season with Danilo, McKennie and De Sciglio on the right and add Frattesi than to add Weah instead.

We are desperate for an attacking mezzala on the right. Samardzic would be a better choice than Hojberg or Phillips, entourage or not.

Allegri has been talking up Nonge lately, saying his time is coming. Guessing he’s developing well in training. Hes been utilized primarily as an AM in the games I’ve watched him play with next gen this season. I think he’s next in line after Yildiz to make his mark with the first team. It’s clear Miretti is falling out of favor. They also have Hasa who’s been next gens most consistent player.

Samardzic may have just been a luxury signing.

First of all there is a huge difference between an established player and a talent.
Honestly I rate Smardzic but he isnt exactly established yet. He is clearly miles in terms of being close to being established compared to Hasa and the likes. I would take him but only for the right price and 40M is definitely over spending.
Hasa - Im actually very intrigued to see how he will develop and wouldnt mind watching him play a game or two (preferrably against a weak team so he could gain confidence).
Nonge - I must admit I forgot he ever existed. I hope he is good.

A football player that plays football very well, now that is a vivid description.

How was your breakfast Mister?
I had a peanut butter sandwich, the peanut butter contained peanuts!
tbf that wasnt the full quote. He was asked about the mercato and said he didnt make any requests to management and then mentioned nonge unprompted as a young guy that can be an important player if he matures mentally, because he “knows how to play”

I took it as him suggesting that Nonge will be integrated in the second half of the season and he’s essentially a new signing.

We’ll see, coppa on Thursday would be a good time to start playing him.

Im all for Nonge breaking through but we have to be realistic as to the impact of such an inexperienced player.

If we hope to win the scudetto we need quality and impact.

This could be Winsley Boteli that Romano linked Juve with a couple days ago

Nonge is both.
I think that with time Hasa needs to get a chance aswel, became player of the tournament at the Euro’s U19 last summer and afterwards went completely under the radar, until now with the 5 year extension.

Both Nonge and Hasa have an interesting set of skills, two profiles we currently don’t have or in a way are comparable with Pogba and Fagioli strange enough.
