The problem arises in a scenario where we need to ship him off and Paredes would want 7M elsewhere which would be way more in terms of gross wages than compared to Italy

But he's 28 and I think this is his last big contract. I just hope this is not a bust signing and desperately hoping this works out.

Without the growth decree, we're practically paying him 5M net. Still slightly on the higher side but not unreasonable.

Reading the press release we're not obligated to buy Paredes unless he reaches certain milestones, then we have to pay PSG €2.5m instead (essentially a loan fee).

Its not that I think its a bad deal, nor do I think Paredes is a useless player. I think him together with pogba, loca/miretti will make the midfield become functional. I just dont think he deserves to be among the 2nd highest earner in the squad, considering his age, injury record and overall quality.
Agree with the rest.
What injury record is it that everyone keeps babbling about? The guy has barely been injured in his career...

last season's obviously, he missed 20 games. Over his career yes he's not injury prone. Hope he can survive:butchers:
Yeah, apparentely he had some niggling adductor problems last season. But that's basically one injury after an almost injury free career so far and certainly nothing worrysome. Very much blown out of proportion if you ask me.

I think the squad rebuild will be completed next summer. Sandro, Rabiot and Kean will most likely leave. If we replace these three with Gaya, SMS and someone like Asensio it would be such an upgrade

Not this SMS shit again pls.

We have Pogba, Parades and Locatelli as starters with Miretti, Fagioli, Rovella as back ups. No need for SMS. I know our injury record but still..

Says so much about this team when the mercato rating is based on players we manage to get rid of rather than who comes in. The last day was a blast.

I do not think Paredes will change that much, but Locatelli will look better, IF, Rabiot is finally put on the bench.

Agreed. It was him or Pogba and we chose the former.

Unless someone casts a spell on Dabho that makes him prematurely retire from football, there's no space for SMS here.

We need to focus on strengthening our wide areas. A long term Di Maria replacement and two new young and athletic fullbacks.

I'm just super happy we are trusting some home grown players
yeah, the only pity for me is Zakaria, but it is what it is, overall probably 8/10 mercato. I had a big meltdown with Milik but so far this is once again proof that im total shit when it comes to judging player utility for Juve. I didnt want Barella too lol.

Lol Locatelli starter.
Even rabiot is more of a "starter" at this point in time.
Hope he turns it around, though.

Why cant Pogba and SMS play together?
3 men mid Paredes/Locatelli Pogba SMS
4321 Both could play the 2 role
Also Pogba gets injured often and we also have our brilliant J Medical where the staff are so great you are just coming back for more...
Its not about style or how they can play together but more of Lazio ask for more than we are willing to pay.

Its like having Gerrard and Lampard play together

It's not a balanced midfield at all

Someone needs to do the dirty work and someone needs to dictate the tempo of the game. Both Pogba and SMS like to surge forward and create scoring opportunities. We wouldn't get the best out of both if they play together.
