who said anything about long contract.

age was brought up as a reason to avoid signing him. yet toni kroos, xabi alonso, modric, pirlo, xavi prove that the modern quality midfielder is able to perform in 30s just as well if not better than in 20s.

i'd argue i'd rather brozovic on a fat 3 year contract than zakaria on a 4 or 5 year.

i wouldn't mind either of them leaving or staying, but looking at our budget i doubt we could bring in better, cheaper freebies.

- cuadrado: he should stay, 1+1 year long contract, same wages
- mds: 2-3 years, same or slightly reduced wages
- perin: he's the best reserve goalie of the league, will probably leave
- dybala: 3-4 year contract, ~same wages
- berna: 4 year contract, and i'd definitely offer him reduced wages, 4m net is a lot. 3m tops, take it or leave it

i'd be surprised if this happened:

i'd be surprised if this happened:

Cuadrado stay agree on 1+1
MDS : stay on 2.5m wages max
Perin : let him go to play somewhere
Dybala: renew for current wage and sell
Berna : let him go unless he renew for 2.5m max

The Italians are getting too much money for what they offer on the pitch. 2.5m is the maximum we should be offering them.

2.5 or 3, i'm fine with either. point is that the italians are basically free agents on very low or negligeable book value. they'd get similar wages elsewhere.
Similar meaning 2.5-3M? It's possible but far from granted. Inter could afford it but for Milan, Napoli and Roma that would be an important salary. Berna maybe would attract some interest but DeS I doubt it.

The situation regarding their salaries is less pressing than before, it’s not that cancerous to have a decent 4th choice at 3M salary and basically no amortisation.
I disagree, there are plenty of players who could offer similar service for much less money. As I said above, at Napoli, Roma or Milan 3m net is a salary for important players. Not to mention Atalanta.

When Alex sandro and Rabiot are earning combined 13 million net why our we penny pinching other reliable players?
Do we have to repeat our mistakes?

Don't agree on Dybala. You want to renew and then backstab him? That's not cool. Who are you bringing in to replace him?
Pointless to discuss such scenario. We either renew him and he stays here for years to come or he walks for free in he summer. It makes zero sense on his part to renew just to be sold when he is currently free to sign with any club he wants.

Arsenal could open up to an 18-month loan with option to buy for Arthur, a formula that would meet Juve's demands. The replacement is Zakaria, who is easier to get to than Guimaraes. Gladbach could settle for 5/6mln€ to let him leave.(morik_92)

Ideal scenario if we could offload him with option which can become obligation and get Bruno now. like Zakaria but Bruno looks like a better partner for Loca.
