40mln for a guy who barely scores seems like a heavy sum, especially considering we're not a team that develops players. It seems like a rip off. Abraham had much better time at Aston Villa, Chelsea and even his NT but his price was just the same (plus he's coming from EPL where everyone is overpriced). Getting Scamacca for 40 seems like a very stupid deal in that case.

The only way it makes sense is if we buy him only to offload him for Vlahovic. Otherwise it just seems like a huge gamble because if he fails here then we're without a proper striker while too much cash went on him.

Abraham is on 6m net / year though. Scamacca will probably make half that if not less.

But at this point he's twice the player and somebody we could really use. Can't say the same about Scamacca. If he flops we're fucked and I don't think we're in a position to gamble.
haven't seen enough of either to make that judgement, but surely we can use Scamacca as well, Morata and Kean haven't been living up to expectations and we're begging for a striker that can bring in more goals.

stats wise Abraham and Scamacca have been pretty similar in Serie A this season. Abraham has 6 goals in 1500 minutes in Serie A, Scamacca 6 as well, but in 900 minutes. Abraham has 9.36 xg and Scamacca 4.57 (which is to be expected given the difference in minutes and chance creation between Sass and Roma).

Why are we discussing players who will not improve us?
Scamacca is good but not a hitman.
Abraham is another Morata

He has definitely improved but I'd say this is the end of the Vlahovic dream
I'd rather say they would be going for Scamacca because the other dream ended. Not the other way around.

Not at the cost of losing Vlahovic.

Vlahovic seems to want us. We should pounce on such an opportunity with all we've got before we resort to Plan B options like Scamacca
The contacts between Cherubini and the entourage of Vlahovic are getting colder. The enticements from the Premier League are pushing him to go to one of the big English clubs.

Scamacca scores more frequently than both Morata and Kean and is better defensively. How would he not improve the club? If you can’t get Vlahovic, Scamacca is a good plan B, especially since his transfer fee would be almost half. Scamacca and a solid mid for one Vlahovic is a pretty good consolation.

Vahovic already accepted an offer last summer that his agents confirmed that they took to Fiorentina. Most sources said from Atletico.

He doesn't seem to be prioritising Juve like Chiesa did. Probably prefers us, but is willing to take big offers from other clubs.

Because he's not good enough?
Good enough for what?

He is a big upgrade to Morata, Kean, and Kaio. In goals and in general play.

It's not like we have Higuain and Tevez here.

#Atalanta do not want to let #Muriel go in January. #Miranchuk will certainly leave (#Genoa pressing hard) @cmdotcom
