Like chester already answered, De Bruyne played as AM behind the striker pulling the strings and running a lot and being available everywhere..assisting and scoring. Arnold has suffered cos of De Bruyne, as he prefers to pay that role too, so he cannot considered a starter anymore.

Its indeed not perfect that his best position is left wing like Perisic, who has totally convinced the last 18 months. Schürrle is pretty versatile though, so maybe he ll play as a striker or right wing..or Perisic can maybe play right wing. Ideally it would be De bruyne in the middle..Schürrle and perisic on the flanks and a new striker to make that fronline complete and deadly.

Wolfsburg have been the 2nd most successful club in 2014, but IMO the squad is still worse than Dortmund. They have some great players, but they dont have depth at all. Let them have some serious injury crises like Bayern, Schalke and Dortmund and they would be fecked.

Since Allofs is there, I like most of their transfers though..buying a few great players with lots of potential instead of buying masses of average players for high prices.
 they could really use a new striker. Olic is soon to be gone and i wouldnt trust Dost and Bendtner for the future considering the level the club is trying to reach. they could use a new CB and a partner for Gustavo too, but maybe im overseeing some young potential they already have. about Arnold, i guess he will have to wait for De Bruyne to finally leave to get a starting spot, and Perisic doesent seem like a long term solution to me so they could go for a right winger in the near future. and i see now they have Sebastian Jung from Frankfurt in the squad. great signing, two years ago i thought Bayern would get him as a Lahm replacement, but he didnt really develop the way i expected so far...

all in all, they are doing an excellent job, and if they stay out of FFP trouble and can keep paying transfer fees and wages as high as they did until now, they have a great future ahead

They had the young talent next to Gustavo, but he died a few weeks ago, sadly.
And as a RW, they also have Vierinha would played much matches this season and didn't do bad if i am not wrong.
If Arnold is smart, he shouldn't wait for De Bruyne to leave, has only been there for 1 year and according to rumors, Wolfsburg is planning to build a squad around, since they have plenty of cash, I doubt Arnold would be smart to wait until de Bruyne leaves.

didnt know, feel sorry for him...

i didnt like Vieirinha the few times i watched him last season and the 1 time i watched him this season. maybe hes better in other matches but from what ive seen he didnt really convince me. about De Bruyne, i was thinking he would be a potential Ribery-replacement candidate. the clubs have good relations, Bayern did sell them Gustavo for a fair price, they got Mandzukic for 13M etc. then there is that he said 2 years ago that he doesent really like living in Germany when he was at Werder prior to moving to London (maybe things changed now). financially, they can keep him, but when bigger clubs come calling HE might decide its time to move on...
