What about Pogba for Suarez ?

I would sign with both hands

- - - Updated - - -

That would solve our problem in attack and we'll have Tevez's replacement.

Tevez - Suarez

mama mia !

We need to be realistic no one is going to offer us something like Cavani + Veratti + $, or Suarez + 40 mil that would never happen. Suarez plus 10-20mil maybe but 40 no way.

Pogba is absolutely priceless... can't be replaced.

If we get 80M for him, and buy two 40M players, we won't get better.

If we spend 80M in 4 players of 20M, we won't get better.

I just don't trust management enough to improve the team with the money. I really don't. Our strength is the midfield, and I think there just aren't any available players willing to play at Juventus who can shine Pogba's shoes.

I just hope he won't get sold now, but we can't resist much.

The thing about Pogba is...how much do we actually rely on him. Our team functions just as well without him when he isn't playing. He's like the cherry on the cake. He's a brilliant player and adds a lot of flair to our squad but do you think we wouldn't be at the level we are now without him? I think we would. If we could get a significant offer, I would take it and build a better team. Zidane-esque.

Okay I'm ready to get roasted. :D

Anyways, some good news. Giovinco's agent came out and said Giovinco isn't going anywhere. The deal with Toronto FC is already finished and he'll be arriving there for July. The rest are all rumours.

So Sturaro for midfield reinforcements, Marotta & Paratici on the lookout to for special deals, and no panic buying strikers. I'm okay with it for January. :)

not this shit again.

we already disproved this by pointing out how many points pogba won through his assists and goals last season. also he is world class at age 21.

also let's say you get a 100m for him. great so you bid 40m for cavani. not so bad eh? 60m to go eh? no, peasant. you forget he earns 14m a year. so if we were to match that that's 56m over 4 years. so there goes your 96m of your 100m. oh but wait you were planning on signing other world class players too no? want to add reus to that? sure let's say we get him for 40m. he earns 4m, but to compete with other clubs we offer him 11m a year. that's 44m + 40m fee 88 milion. so we sold 1 class player and signed 2 for double the close to double the fee

congratulations. you just bankrupted juventus. enjoy becoming the new milan.

If you count Cavani's wage, you should also count Pogba's wage in, which is also 9m gross. And we will never get players that are on such a high salary.

I'm with Joe on this one. We can definitely be as strong without as we are with Pogba. Verratti, Jovetic, Mikhytaryan for instance. 3 classy players within budget range. Those first two can replace Pirlo's and Tevez' wage in a year whereas Miki would even make less than Pogba.

That said, we have no reason whatsoever to let go of the Pog now. Maybe over a year and a half...

but we are not paying a transfer fee for pogba.

and jovetic classy? if he was then he would not be available to us.
What nonsens arguement. Tevez is class as well, he was available. Same goes for Vidal, Pogba, etc.

We are not paying a transfer fee for Pogba, but we aren't getting one either if we ain't selling him. What's your point?

@Lion How many points pogba won last season for us? That's ridiculous stat to point out. How do you know that other, let's say two 50m worth players wouldn't win more points? And there are plenty of guys without massive wages

The thing is whether we like it or not we are incapable of keeping Pogba for a long time, he's already being offered millions and millions of euros more per year than he is earning now at arguably better teams...

We will have enough money to buy Cavani in the summer (without selling Pogba), we're not a poor club. Also we shouldn't spend money on more squad players. In that way we can secure one big signing.

Nice arguments. Even though I believe Pogba can lead us to glory in the coming years if he keeps developing and scoring goals and shining in the CL, for me Reus and Cavani would be an upgrade over Pogba. They would give us so much fire power that we would be one of the best attacks in europe.

Only when Reus won't be injured :lol2:

I do worry about selling Pogba. Everyone remembers how we sold Zidane and got Thuram, Buffon and Nedved. Zidane was the most expensive player at the time and we bought the world's best goalkeeper (at the time), arguably the world's best defender and a top 5 attacking midfielder.

Even if we assume that Pogba is worth 100m. A top 5 defender, midfielder or striker would cost at least 45m. Thats because Zidane was the world's best player whereas Pogba is the world's best youngster and arguably top 5 midfielder already.

If you look at the track record of teams who have recently sold their best player and re-invested the money in 2 or 3 other players, they have not really had much success. Look at what happened to Borussia Dortmund (after selling Gotze and then Lewandowski); Tottenham after selling Bale, Liverpool after selling Suarez etc.

However, I do agree that Juve do not rely as much on Pogba as Liverpool relied on Suarez or Dortmund relied on Gotze or Tottenham relied on Bale.

My biggest fear of all is that we sell Pogba for 100m and the Marotta buys a lot of 2nd rate players and spends no more than 30m on any single player.

In the end, it will be Pogba who forces the transfer rather Marotta looking to start an Auction.

I am also not 100% sold on the idea of Cavani and Verratti in exchange. Verratti is a very good player but he is not world class. Cavani is a great player but his market value would be close to EU50-60m. Suarez is worth over EU60m.

The team is likely only to be BETTER if we sell Pogba and SPEND to upgrade (assuming someone is willing to value Pogba at 100m).

So this would be an idea for instance: SELL: Pogba (100m) & LLorente (15m?); BUY: Cavani (55m) + Suarez (65m). Net spend close to zero.

But all of a sudden we would have a world class X1: Buffon-Lichsteiner, Barzagli, Chiellini, Evra-Vidal, Pirlo, Marchisio-Suarez, Tevez-Cavani

Pulling this off will be hard though. Suarez cost Barca around 90m! But you see my point - bloody hard to upgrade the team unless you spend big $$ with that Pogba money
