Considering we have the buy back clause, any sum above 15mln we either split with Sassuolo or we get him back and then sell him.

But I can't see us wanting to ruin our relations with Sass.

Overall our players play very well in 433, they have good understanding of the formation; The whole play looks smooth and effective.
And you know this based on one cup game against a weak opponent? Don't get me wrong, I'm all for us moving towards a 4-3-3 next season and testing it out more this season, I'm just wondering how you've reached this conclusion. It seems awfully similar to the reactions to 4-3-1-2 when we hammered Parma 7-0.

we are pretty much already using all these players (bar the attacking trio, although for me Morata should be ahead of Llorente already). Caceres showed against a very good Napoli side that he can be counted on + we are already working on finding a new RB (Vrsaljko, Widmer, Zappacosta are all closely followed by us and we will take the one that shows the best potential). Asamoah is our starting LB already when healthy, and Marchisio has shown this season that he is more than good enough to take Pirlos spot. not to "replace" Pirlo (thats close to impossible) but he has shown other strengths. Sturaro, Pereyra and Romulo are excellent depth for the CM position so we are stacked there for years. we are doing very well so far this season without Barzagli, we will bring in Rugani to eventually replace him and (if needed) probably find a new CB soon. Buffon will stay for 3-4 more years, so the only position where we might struggle is Tevez. we are obviously hoping that Coman or Berardi can do it, but thats what mercatos are for, to find players that can fill in the gap. doesent seem like some impossible mission to me and selling Pogba definitely isnt a must to make the transition.

and why have you quoted me? do you think we have to sell Pogba to replace our aging players or not?

good point. im definitely for it but dont know how Allegri and Marotta think. also dont know if we could find 2 such players in one mercato. what i think they will probably do is get Zaza and Berardi back and try to find one winger or SS. with Coman, Morata and Tevez that makes it 6 players for 3 spots.

:agree: he was tearing the league apart in those 1st 2-3 seasons when he left United
Yeah I think we will have to sell either him or Vidal to revamp the squad.

Cacares can be counted on as a rotation player. The licht's consistency is incomparable. Lb is already a weakness. CM we are set for starters but our bench options are disgusting. We used to have Marchisio coming from the bench. He'll be a starter and the Pereyras and Padoins will come from the bench. Hopefully one CM proves as decent as marchisio.

In attack we are fucked. Llorente (was supposed to be WC) is not performing to standard and so we need someone better. Morata has so far been a flop and getting a new tevez will be super expensive. We need to sign 2 world class strikers. The berardis zazas and gabiadinis can probably give us bench options but little more than that. Either pay up big upfront or at least one WC player and morata gets his shit together.

The pogba or vidal money will have to be reinvested in 3 players. 2 strikers/SS/wingers and a CM.

Let's not forget we played our most 'attractive' fluent football in the first 6 months with a 4-3-3

Obviously we drew a hella lot but that was down to our absolutely shit number 9 and overall no clinical finishers. Our attacking play was exceptional.

I would call 4-3-2-1 what we played against Parma. Which is quite similar to 4-3-3 when the 2 AMCs drift wide (which Pereyra did a lot in that match, while Tevez started wide and drifted towards inside).

It's fairly obvious that we play 'better' when we have proper width, it's pretty simple.

wing play is so important in todays game, and pacy direct wingers who can take their man on are clearly going to offer more than Stephan Scottsteiner & friends do from fullback. Teams can park the bus against us and set up to be ridiculously narrow because the worst case scenario for them is one of our full backs who can't cross and can't dribble get some space in wide areas, then they concede a corner which as always we do nothing from. Teams would have to be much smarter against us, we'd tear teams a new ass hole with some quality wide men if they tried the usual flat back 5 bullshit against us. If they want to double mark our strikers then we can hurt them in other ways, as opposed to now where our attack seems so disconnected and isolated most of the time.

In attack we are $#@!ed. Llorente (was supposed to be WC) is not performing to standard and so we need someone better. Morata has so far been a flop and getting a new tevez will be super expensive. wow, cant believe our opinions on this are so distant.

lets start on RB. Caceres is an excellent player, very underrated here. i think he has the qualities to be a regular starter if he stays injury free. Licht is performing on a high level for years now, that doesent mean that hes impossible to replace. we are already working on it (as i mentioned already in my previous post). Caceres and Vrsaljko/Zappacosta/Widmer is more than good enough. id like us to get Darmian but he will be hard to get.

LB is not a weakness. Asamoah, when fit is our regular starter, and he was doing a great job over the past 2 seasons. when he returns to 100% he will lock down that position for years. also, all the above mentioned names (except probably Widmer) can play on both flanks so we will have enough depth for both flanks.

CM is our best covered position in the team but you want to sign another one? i dont think thats what we need. Marchisio - Pogba - Vidal is one of the best midfields in europe, and having Romulo (who i forgot to mention as a potential candidate for RB), Pereyra and Sturaro as backup gives us fantastic depth in that position. keep in mind that Asamoah is an option here too in case we decide to get a starter caliber LB (Darmian :xfinger:)

now to the attack. you say we need someone better than Llorente. i ask how hard could it be to find such a player? Morata has been more effective this season with Llorente playing twice as much. and you call Morata flop? what would that make Llorente then? ofcourse Morata wont have an impact when he doesent get a chance to play some games in a row. Llorente is pretty much starting every game and he has done nothing (one goal here and there doesent change that he is playing terrible). give Morata a run of games and you will forget that Llorente even exists.

"we need to sign 2 world class strikers". and see, there is your problem. you think the only way to replace aging stars is to splash big money on other stars. you seem to hate the idea of giving young players like Coman or Berardi a chance rather than selling your most valuable asset to be able to spend big. Tevez has been our best player over the last 2 seasons, i agree its very hard to find such a player (not impossible). but you seem to forget how we got him in the first place. we needed 2 WC strikers in 2013., did we sell Vidal/Pogba to buy them? that is not how this club works. we will ofcourse continue to look for opportunities (like seeing if Jovetic is available in the summer and try to get him on discount, or use the situation in Dortmund and good relations with Raiola to get Mkhitaryan, etc.). that is how this club is working. not selling your best players to fill in other areas.

so to sum it up, we are stacked in both defense and midfield, even when Licht, Evra, Barzagli and Pirlo leave. 1-2 cheap signings + Rugani and Sturaro are more than enough. the attack is the problem, Tevez will be hard to replace but we can do it. either Coman/Berardi or catch an opportunity on the market and we have no need of selling Pogba to do so. he will leave ONLY if he goes to Agnelli/Marotta and says he wants to go. and yes, we can reject any offer if Pogba wants to stay.

Agree with everything apart from defence

Chiellini is getting old and decaying, whilst barzagli is old and allways injured

Bonucci is decent but thats about it. We need a promising young defender, cause very soon, we'll have a very mediocre defence

looking at this season i think we have handled the transition from Barzagli very well. he was immense for us the past 3 seasons and im surprised how well we are doing without him. i kinda hope Chiellini catches his standard form again, then he could last for another 3-4 years for us. also, id like us to sell Ogbonna in the summer and get a new CB, but it seems we want to keep him. the problem is, there arent much CBs available that might improve us. i heard Real might want to sell Varane. i would definitely take him, dont know if there is much truth in it though.

Juventus join Reus race?
By Football Italia staff

Juventus are being linked with a €25m swoop for Borussia Dortmund winger Marco Reus.

The German international has also been heavily linked with Real Madrid, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.

According to Tuttosport, the Bianconeri are making a late attempt to pick up the 25-year-old.

The price-tag is not an issue, because Reus has a buy-out clause in his contract worth €25m and any club that activates it from the summer can then agree personal terms with him.

Real Madrid are believed to be leading the race, but Juventus could well offer more guaranteed playing time in an already very strong midfield.

The Bianconeri can boast Andrea Pirlo, Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal in their ranks.

Juventus had also shown interest in Reus when he was still at Borussia Monchengladbach.
Tuttosport but oh baby please...
