Tevez False nine
$#@!ing play coman left inside winger
$#@!ing buy Mhkiryatan for the center
play Morata or Pereyra on the right
We're not going to see COman in our best starting XI any time soon. Certainly not this year, and the goal today isn't proof at al that he should. He still runs around like a headless chicken far too often.

I'd like to see him get regular game time, as in all Coppa matches, occasional Serie A matches when our starters need a rest, and earlier substitution appearances when the team isn't playing well, but he clearly isn't far enough along to be a starter for a team with our aspirations. It's likely 2 years before he's ready to be a full time starter, if he continues developing.

Madrid will barely improve from Reus, considering the current talent.
Upgrading a star into a slightly different and arguably better star, gains surprisingly little sportive wise.

Upgrading an average into a good player, does far more.

Seriously, Marco Reus, he will be offered like 8-10 Million per season by other teams..we cant compete, especially if the fee will only be 25Mill..

it would be sad to see him go and make Madrid an even stronger team
7 million net as it seems.

I'd like to see him in Madrid. Look, if he goes to Bayern he makes Bayern stronger. If he goes to Chelsea he makes Chelsea stronger. If he goes to City he makes City stronger. If he goes to ManU he makes ManU stronger.

If he goes to Real he basically disappears. I will be like Reus never existed. Real already reached maximum level of offensive power, the only thing to make them stronger are defenders.

Juve can also offer something in terms of playtime. Look at Real Madrid's midfield and you know Reus isn't a guaranteed starter every match. That has to account for something.

I think Juve has a longshot chance if they pitch their plan to him and the growing talent we have on this team.

He'd be in competition with Ronaldo and Bale mostly, even though I agree with you, you gotta remember that Perez won't throw away his fancy new cash cow for Reus

"How would you like to come and play for us, we'll give you plenty of minutes as a box 2 box midfielder or maybe if you're lucky, you can play CF with your back to goal laying the ball off to our mids" :touched:

Real wouldnt be the best move for him but in terms of a successful club with potential to win the CL multiple times and pay him big bucks and play for the worlds biggest team...that is hard to compete with.

If all those big clubs fight it out for Reus, Marotta should look for an alternative who is quality. Moggi was good at this...whilst others fought for the worlds best Moggi went out and found players who were ready to step it up a level and become world class.

Reus would be THE perfect signing. I don't give us much of a chance of landing him but I don't think it's impossible either.

imagine:
Buffon
Lichtsteiner Bonucci Chiellini Asamoah
Vidal Marchisio Pogba
Berardi Tevez Reus

Leali
Caceres Barzagli Rugani Evra
Romulo Pirlo Sturaro
Pereyra Morata Coman

We could then sell Ogbonna, Padoin, Pepe and Llorente and use whatever money is left to strengthen RB/LB and RW.

Why are you taking playtime as a criteria.Thats not important here. There are several other more popular EPL and other cash rich teams than can offer Reus which we cant.Money, appeal and glory,we are behind in all three aspects. In terms of glory,we can certainly offer Serie A glory but its far from the benchmark these days.
Even with Reus here,i would say we would still be way behind in terms of competing for the CL.

I think we offer (now and in the future) more glory than an EPL club save Chelsea or ManCity. We definitely offer more than ManU, Liverpool or Arsenal. As far as appeal goes, I think we should be near those EPL clubs mentioned in terms of appeal. Better place to live, better cities, better fans, newer facilities. And contracts can be negotiated. If we could get Reus for 25m buyout, that's low enough that we can go a little overboard on wages. Especially when you take into consideration the higher earners who are soon to leave our wage bill. Tevez, Pirlo, Buffon. Those three won't be on our wage bill for more than 2-4 years total. If we believe Tevez is leaving in 2 years, 1 year of having both Tevez and Reus on the wage bill is worth that added cost knowing that we won't be paying Tevez's replacement as much with Reus there.

We always say we can offer players playing time...

They'll go for the money and prestige at Real Madrid (even if that means sitting on the bench most of the time) and then in a couple years move to the EPL and reignite their career again.

And you know this based on one cup game against a weak opponent? Don't get me wrong, I'm all for us moving towards a 4-3-3 next season and testing it out more this season, I'm just wondering how you've reached this conclusion. It seems awfully similar to the reactions to 4-3-1-2 when we hammered Parma 7-0.
It was more of a 4321 in fact. Look at this:

I would call 4-3-2-1 what we played against Parma. Which is quite similar to 4-3-3 when the 2 AMCs drift wide (which Pereyra did a lot in that match, while Tevez started wide and drifted towards inside).
Overall my conclusion comes from the fact Conte played it with pretty much all these players. You can clearly see they play it in a very similar way to what Conte taught them.
