So you wanna get Hamsik, a player that obviously dont Work in the advanced midfield role, and play him in the exact same role at Juventus hoping for a different outcome?
Thats just brilliant.
Hamsik is currently playing as a support striker. In a 4-3-1-2 or 4-3-2-1, he'd be playing deeper than where Benitez wants him.
“Playing further up the pitch? I am playing in a more advanced position in comparison to last year, the boss wants me in behind the opposition midfielders as a support striker, but then you have to see what space there is to take.”
With Mazzarri, he played in a 3-4-2-1 type of formation and was very successful. He played as one of the two attacking midfielders supporting the striker. This isn't very different from what he'd be doing in a 4-3-1-2 or 4-3-2-1.
Whether or not he is the best fit based on his current level of play is one thing, but from a positional perspective he is completely suited to playing the role.
