I'd renew Gio tbh, purely because selling him for 5M in 2 installments to some club is better than losing him on a free.

Then again he'll end up rejecting other clubs
He's asking for 2.5m wages. We shouldn't renew him but rather sell in January. Offering him that much will be a huge mistake. Sell him to Torino for 5m and let's move onto better players who aren't such a waste of space and money.

How much do you think we could fetch from selling him?
Less than 10M is a joke of a price

But his contract is running out and the club is not in hurry to renew it. I guess we're not happy with him, especially if he's asking for a pay rise.

He isn't worth too much anyway and we should't renew his deal IMO.

He seriously wants a raise? It's a helluva drug
Yes he does as far as I know. He's getting about 1.5 right now and wants 2.5m. I think we'll look for alternatives in January (Shaqiri) or just let him go on a free transfer and replace him with Berardi next Summer. Either way we shouldn't renew his contract, he's not worth it and we'll have difficulties with selling him once we renew his deal.

You said it "of today", in January there was the rumour of Real Madrid giving Di Maria + 30m for Pogba but nobody wanted that because he was having a terrible season, Ancelotti placed him as CM after Khedira's injury. I'm not saying that Pereyra is even near the level of Di Maria but have similar skills and playing style so now is Allegri's job to work on that to make him a top player like the Di Maria OF TODAY.
Di Maria has been world class for years now. What has Pereyra done to suggest he can reach that level?

Not that I think he'll ever be good as Di Maria, but asking why a guy in his early 20's who's been playing for Udinese up until now hasn't shown what he's truely capable of is just unfair on the guy.

Di Maria and Vidal weren't world class at his age. Pereyra was a winger at River and learned to play CM in Udinese, it says a lot of him. In the few games he's played at Juventus not only he showed awesome skills but also a great attitude to play for a big team and fight for a spot with the CM we have.

I'll have to see way more and way better before I start thinking he could be as good as Di Maria in a few years. Di Maria is only 26. At Pereyra's age he was already a regular for Madrid. I'm not saying Pereyra doesn't have the potential to be a very good player, just that it's premature to say he could reach Di Maria's level in the future.

He could easily be a starter but we have the best CM in the world right now. It's not our policy to buy established top players for high amount of money, we bring young talented players already proven at a competitive league to get them to top class.

Pereyra is a CM, Di maria is a winger. Can't compare them. I'd say each is better than the other at his position. They both have one thing in common though, other than beeing argentine, they both have poor finishing.

Scoring 1 good goal doesn't make you a good finisher. I can bring you hundreds of wasted chances by Di maria. I can say that from watching him closley.

Honestly, wtf is with the Di Maria Pereyra stuff, maddening to read, our Argie has couple decent games and he is suddenly compared to someone who has been potentially stand out top quality player since Benfica days. Pereyra is an absolute nobody in comparison.

And oh, both are the same type of players, different positions stuff is weird distinction.
