I'm not sure I trust Osvaldo under Allegri. As a 5th striker we could and have done worse, but I don't really see why we need one unless the ant is leaving now.
I tend to agree with this.
Nonetheless, I am certain that Marotta and co are in somewhat of a quandary as what to to between now and 11pm on Feb 2ns 2015.
On the one hand we seem to be coasting along fine with a +7 point lead in Serie A and there would be a strong argument to favour the status quo with no signings other than Sturaro coming back next week. The likelihood of a bid between now and next week for PP is microscopically small, so no need to panic.
On the other hand, there are some who would argue that we need to strengthen the squad before this winter window closes in order to improve our prospects against Dortmund - and hopefully beyond - in the Champions League. In this regard, I'd argue that we need to acquire another striker that has better talents than Zaza, Osvaldo and Pazzini. Whilst I acknowledge that Winter tranfer negotiations ate a lot trickier than the ones in Summer, nevertheless there will be suitable targets out there in the €12m - €20m price bracket. That said, I'm not at all sure that Agnelli is too keen to commit because he ( and Marotta, Patrici & co) will be weighing up the main task of rebuilding the squad in the Summer. after the sale of Paul Pogba to a club like RM, Chelsea or PSG when decision making is more clear cut.
