His "caliber" is only good enough for this generation. He would have no place in the past.
It falls again under what i said, the bar was and is set too low for players who aren't all that gifted like Torres to achieve the entitlement of being the best around.
Come on now, this is just blatant over-glorification of the past :D

Still mad after the Charlie Hepdo-discussion we had where you failed I see.
We had a discussion? I never had any discussion with you, in fact, i don't even talk to you. But here's how your post is completely dumb and how you come out as not knowing shit.

You think fielding a pacey team with strong players is all there is to winning a match and that teams, great teams i must add, of the past would look like, and i quote, "little girls" because they were "slower and weaker"?

Do you even know how English Football was like in the 80's and 90's? Except Liverpool, who must i add again, had great technical players, it was exactly what you think can beat anyone. Pace and physicality. The mentality was the same then and has passed to on other countries. Yet, just as their National team, they were are have always been outmatched by South Americans technicality/agility and Italians tactical and Germany's direct approach. It's simple Football history.

Being faster at running after a ball means shit when you know what to do with it. Players then knew and how they knew. Today, there are many so-called professionals who can't either kick, pass or even control the ball.

The point you try to make is utter ridiculous.

One of the other problems with the argument that the athleticism of today's players would be too much for the stars of the past, is that these stars would now have access to much better physical fitness and weightlifting regimens of today. Very few athletes in any team sport had much in the way of organized training and exercise regimens before the 1990s (outside the former Soviet Bloc, but they were decades ahead in that regard). They would have had their immense skill, but also even better athleticism than they already had. Imagine some of these players with even 5% more pace and strength due to today's advances in training. #MindBlown

The reason they had that much skill is because that's all they had to focus on. Players today have way more extensive practices and drills.

It goes both ways. It's not something kind of phenomena or something. I do think if we had a time machine and today's players went back to the past, they'd murder those guys.

Don't worry. CK can't remember who he wrote with a couple of days ago, can't expect him to remember how football was 20 years ago. He clearly has got a bad memory.

I didn't even see that until today. If even if that's true, how are you to say i was wrong because nothing happened before, what if something indeed does this time? And 2. If time proves me wrong I don't really care. Last i checked this a Football forum and that's what I'm here for.
