Perin charged with drink-driving

It’s reported Genoa and Italy goalkeeper Mattia Perin has been charged with drink-driving just 48 hours before a big game.

According to news agency ANSA and the Corriere Mercantile, Perin was stopped last night on the Arenzano coast near Genoa.

He was pulled over while driving his Golf and tested positive on an alcohol breath test.

The 22-year-old was charged and the car placed in the care of a friend.

It remains to be seen whether the club will penalise Perin by dropping him for that game.
