IMO it's even better than WE7 based on gameplay, the rest I can't say much about since I don't know japanese and thereby can't explore the rest of the game :D

that's all i'm asking for,an improvement.

fifa has obviously deteriorated in terms of both graphics and gameplay so the majority of the game-playing population will see for themselves the real deal.

you mean the analog manual pass?or lobbing the ball?both kinda needed some polishing in PES3:D

also,is the through ball improved, particularly from the centre to the flanks?last time round it used to be hit too far all the time.

posted this in the fifa 2k5 thread, thought it might be better in here as well.

Guys, I got WE8, the jap release for now on Ps2, since its modded and what not...and let me tell you....

ITS GOING TO BE THE BEST ****ING GAME EVER!

I am referring to Pro Evolution Soccer 4.

Not only has the graphics system improved TREMENDOUSLY, meaning like when there is free kicks, or they put the ball down for a corner or what not, but the passing system as well is just AMAZING.

The throughballs are BEAUTIFUL now. Really effective, and realistic. Work great against your opponents if you can pull them off, and have quick enough guys up top.

Game play is much quicker, and overall, game is looking a lot better aesthetically.

Only WE8 series can make me download or get a JAP Ps2 game to want to play it.

Luckily, Ive mastered all the menus, so it being in jap doesnt prevent me from starting up a game, or even a cup.

Theres also a lot more teams in this version, and they have rights to many leagues it seems.

Theres also the new feature of the uniforms getting dirty after a tackle or late in the game and what not, something that is SMALL, but very cool. Along with the ref now running the pitch with you.

The throw in system has changed a bit, but its still well down, more so then ANY fifa game out there.

I recently played World Tour Soccer 2005, actually yesterday, and I couldnt ****ing stand another second of that shite. Had to IMMEDIATELY play some WE8. They actually have a button that DIVES for you. Intentional dive. If you press R2, the guy just flops. So dumb.

Sure WE has handballs and what not, but it really fits the gameplay well.

Perhaps, Im just a bit excited, and eagerly await a decent english patch for this game, or PES4 to come out in October, but Im just sick and tired of all these wannabes/and other bandwagon soccer videogamers that come along and praise the FIFA series, and rave about how cool it is. Then when you mention it sucks, and that WE OWNS it, there like NOOOOOOO, nuh UHHHHHH. Its the best. Clearly, having never played it once.

Yes this is long, but if you got ANYTHING from this message, just know, WE8/PES4 will be the GREATEST game PERIOD for soccer on both the PC/CONSOLE this year, once again.

Dont waste your time or money with the Fifa series, its years behind anything close to WE/PES.

My $.02, back to play some more.

I hope I don't need to go and buy an Xbox now :irritate:

    Konami Confirm XBox Live

Konami have today confirmed that Pro Evolution Soccer 4 will indeed be online on XBox Live. The news comes from an official press release made by the company.

"Konami of Europe has confirmed what every Xbox owner has been waiting to hear: its much vaunted Pro Evolution Soccer 4 will be compatible with the Xbox® LiveTM service, allowing users to play against rival fans in real-time online matches."

You can read the full press release Here thanks to our friends at Soccer Gaming.

    ------------------------------------------------------

PESInsight LIVE - Organised Online PES Tournaments
With Pro Evolution Soccer 4 finally going online, many of you are no doubt eager to play people from around the globe! The PESInsight LIVE tournaments will help you do this, whilst also offering some big prizes.

The tournaments will only be available to members of PESInsight LIVE. To ensure everyone who signs up is actually wanting to play and not just waste ours and indeed other gamers time, there is a nominal £2.50 membership fee. This provides you full membership to PESInsight LIVE for one-year after registering.

All members should already have XBox LIVE and a gamer tag, but this is not requirement. Once your payment has been verified, you will gain access to an exclusive PESInsight LIVE area.

    Tournament Rules
    =============

Each of the tournaments will be run by an appointed PESInsight Referree. A certain degree of trust is of course involved, but we expect the membership fee should reduce the amount of 'rogue' players. There will be a variety of different tournaments, ranging from Club Team Leagues to World Cup style competitions. Depending on the prizes up for grabs, additional fee's may be payable to take part in certain tournaments. Each tournament game will have its own settings. These will be outlined in the post for that particular tournament. Any player found to be purposely not following these rules may face elimination from that particular tournament.

    Refunds
    ======

Should, for any reason, the online play in XBox LIVE is not up to scratch, we will issue refunds to any members who signed up in advance of playing PES4 online. We will not give refunds to those people who cannot play online for reasons such as they do not have an XBox!

Ive been playing WE8 on ps2 soooooo much lately.

Played one Serie A League season with Juve.
15 min, 3 stars. Pulled in Zlatan and Canna midway through, ended up in 4th. Got screwed in some games.

Then I got a new patch, ****ING owwwnssss.
Basically, all english, all new kits, EVERY transfer up to 9/1/04. Rooney to Man u, Woodgate/Owen to Real, etc.
Juve got Olivera, Zlatan, Canna, Kapo, etc.

Cant unload Micco or Maresca since there is no Fiorentina team in the game.

Option file is 100% up to date tho.

Patch also has new boot pack, new stadiums, CHANTS.

The CHANTS are sooooooooooo sick, its really not even funny. They add sooooo much to the game when you turn the announcers off which it defaults to with this patch.

New MUSIC as well. Game menus, replay screens, etc, have good music. If you win a cup, Queen - we are the champions plays. Got an evanescence song, and this other queen song. this other mix has some dmx, 50 cent, etc.

basically, what ever the patcher uses, queens of stone age, franz ferdinand, etc, etc.

however this is the new OLE mix patch, so its got a very nice south american theme to a lot of hte music and what not, which keeps hte menus really fresh, and u dont get too bored compared to other music that could be used.

OVERALL tho, the game is SUPERB. Basically its ALL in english now, except for traning, which isnt too important.

this will for sure hold me over until PES4 comes out late october.

BY FAR, the GREATEST game ever. This patch IS AWESOME BTW.
Oh ya, its also got Champions League entry music when even u watch cinematics before u start a game, adds so much to it, along with chants. When I play with Juve, they chant FORZA JUVE, FORZA JUVE, etc etc. And something else ending with ITALIA. Soooo sick.

Also, the intro video is the one of Henry playing fut in his house, the nike ad, with the man u guys, etc.

Its really got the whole OLE total 90 theme to it, but its still SUPER nice.

recommend it, and i only posted this to prove the haters or the ones who say "game isnt in english" that it IS NOW, and boy is it the BEST game ever. kits can be updated and customized on pc, or in game. great editing system.

    GET THIS GAME GUYS!

Xbox Live is a vastly superior online service to PS2's online capability.

Its not even close, to be honest.

Full blown tournaments, buddy lists, the ability to download larger patches of content than the PS2, unless you have the Hard Drive, simply can't do. Never any lag, due to it being broadband only. The ability to buy products for your XBox and download it into your system, such as games, music, also the utilization of Windows Media center in the future holds great promise for XBox live.

i have both, and XBox live is simply better.
