Windows Installation Error (1 Viewer)

I hope someone will be able to help me.

I've just built a computer and I tried installing Windows on it. So I format the HDD in NTFS (only option given) and when it was done, it gave me the following error message:

'Setup was unable to format the partition. The disk may be damaged.

Make sure the drive is switched on and properly connected to your computer. If the disk is a SCSI disk, make sure your SCSI devices are properly terminated. Consult your computer manual or SCSI adapter documentation for more information.'

I don't think the disk is damaged because its capacity was shown on the screen.

Please tell me where to go from here. I'd appreciate it as I'm lost.

1. Open windows

2. Pick up computer

3. Drop computer through window

4. Check if you hit anyone

If yes:
4a. Call ambulance (optional)
4b. Sing Shaggy's "Wasn't me"

If no:
5. Relax

    It's called the Internet. :D

BTW.......my comment doesn't entitle you to suggest that to solve my problem......so don't even think about it. :irritate:

Forget windows, install something else ;)

Sounds like a problem with the harddrive, if that's the case there's nothing you can do..

I wouldn't know how to use linux :D

So the fact that during the setup the correct capacity of the drive was shown doesn't necessarily mean it's not damaged?
