Why Marchionni chose Juve…

Parma winger Marco Marchionni admits he was spoilt for choice before opting to sign for Juventus next season.
The Italian youngster has agreed a five-year deal with the Turin giants, but has today revealed that numerous other clubs wanted his signature.
“It was tough to choose a club at the very beginning,” the midfielder told Sky Italia on Thursday afternoon.
“When you have that many teams after you then it is obvious that you are going to have a few doubts about where to go.”
The likes of Fiorentina and Inter were believed to be hotly monitoring Marchionni given that he was available on a free transfer.
But the former Empoli and Under-21 international opted to join the Stadio Delle Alpi outfit once his Tardini contract comes to an end.
“They were the club who acted with facts rather than just with words and promises,” explained Marchionni. “That’s what enticed me to pick them.”
However, Marchionni wants to leave Parma in the best shape possible by helping the club avoid relegation.
And he’ll be looking to aid his side to another good result on Saturday when they play host to Internazionale.
“Playing against the big clubs has always provided us with extra stimulus to do well,” he stated. “And now Lady Luck seems to be on our side.”
Parma have put a decent little run of form together which has helped them create space between themselves and the drop zone.
The Gialloblu are currently 13th, eight points clear of relegation threatened Messina who are third from bottom.
