Surely the logical thing to do would be to get in a new manager and let him buy in the players that he wants to work with?
Deschamps left because of interference like this, and no manager worth their salt would go to a club where the Sporting Director decides what players come and go!

Hmm... Nice question but I think our board already knows the name of the next coach and they will unveil him at the end of the season... And who said we are buying players, we have only rumours and nothing concrete so I don't believe that much in any rumour...

I agree with Goggo... they already have a pretty good idea whose gonna be in charge come next season (most likely Lippi & Conte), and judging by the rumors (Iaquinta, Mesto, Barzagli, Cannavaro, Lampard), they are buying accordingly.

Even in the unlikely event that a successor isn't immediately known, Transfer Gurus in Italy have more discretion in purchases than in England or even Spain. The old "if you build it, they will come" mentality comes into play.

I know a lot of the players linked with us is speculation, but so is any manager linked with us. Why do we ignore players linked, but think there's truth with the managers? Surely that's pure speculation too!
