The first team I ever started to support was Djurgården here in Sweden, since I played in their youth team. I've sticked to them ever since.

In Europe however, I'm a hardcore glory hunter.
so you supported them when we played them in the CL qualifiers in 2004, I presume?

-is it necessary for a true fan to be living in or having some link to the city his favourite club is from?
-is someone who has never seen his team play in a stadium not a true fan?
-is supporting a national team other than your own country 'glory hunting'?
-is supporting multiple teams glory hunting?

QUOTE]
1Yes eg I am not Italian, so being from Turin is out of the question so why I am not supporting, say, Como, why am i supporting Juventus, well various reasons, but since they are successful, then unfortunately, i am a glory hunter. Glory hunting does not mean you have not come to love the club, you are not from the place so you are a glory hunter , end of.

2) I don't do stadia so thats a hard call, even if it was next to my home i still would not go so no comment
3) Yes if you are not from that country then the only reason you are supporting them is because they are strong so of cos its glory hunting
4) yes cos its usually your local team and most of the successful sides in the world

Glory hunter is someone who hunts glory through his team,
he chooses a team only because of that,
as long as his club winning, he is pleased,
if the team doesnt deliver wins/glory, he is getting frustrated and sometimes even stop supporting this team.
Either he does it for personal pleasure or just because he wants to boast at others,
he is a glory hunter.
He supports a club for its succes, not necessary the CL title but a relative succesfull campaign compared to other teams.
A glory hunter is more keen than the rest to swich sides,
support another team or having two, three, four, favourite teams
and occasionaly cheer for the most succesfull,
he only wears his team colours the day after his team have won a title or won a derby, he never does it the other way...

Thats it!! the rest are other kind of fans,
this title is overabused from local supporters over others,
because they need to feel superior and more "loyal" or special than the rest,
(some of them are right, esp the pre Abromivici Chelsky supporters)
someone who has been raised to love a club and never had the option to support another, just because he was born in the clubs home city and be controled by his parents will,
isnt necesary "more fun" than someone other, who lives in the other side of the planet,
who has desperately searching to find a club close to his ideals/standards,
who has only been touched by a certain club among million other relatively succesfull and for reasons other than succes.
Who struglles to find the latest news and reports for his beloved far away club,
who pays much more money, on satelite TV and airport tickets just to watch his favoured club, than the local supporter pays for a game-ticket.

Why is someone convicted to watch and love his home city type of football alone?
what if the caracter's team doesnt fit the mans tastes?
what if the supporter isnt atracted by the level of his entire teams league football?
why he sould ignore the rest of the world's FCs and keep supporting his home city, that might even, doesnt belong at any profesional league?
For the love of football? for the love of his home-city?
He sould watch football because he has to? not because he loves to?
He sould keep watching and venerating a team that offer him the same level of football spectacle, as the moments he is playing soccer with his friends in the backyard but much less excitement than this?
He sould close his eyes these Mundial days, were highly pro athlets deliver the spactacle football is ment to deliver?
No he souldnt watch that Dinho backheel, Ronaldinho is a very succesfull player and most important he is from a far way city...
admiring such a player is a sin... isnt it?

admiring how the Juventus players using your favourite tactics,
in your favourite colours, with your favourite manner, by some of your favourite players is all wrong,
you are not allowed because you might been acused as a glory hunter,
Juventus is a very succesfull club above all,
it doesnt matter if you admire the perfectly sycronized Cannavaro taclins,
the way Zambrotta's crosses find their targets in the other side of that huge Italian fields while he had his back turned to his teamates and his eyes shut,
the Trezequet's positioning in the box,
Camo's control skills,
Nedved's long shots,
the way Juventus uses to defend with too lines of defence to secure the result souldnt attract you
(even though you've always thought, this is the best way to secure a win),
the reporters have decided its not beautifull football for you,
it sux actually, you souldnt watch and souldnt like it,
you sould just keep faith to your local's team number "10" to deliver all the spectacle you ever wished to get from football,
you sould close your eyes, stop watching other ppls teams,
thats not for you, ignore them, you sould support your local FC or quit football at all...

does the fact that glory glory man utd sound very catchy to me make me a glory hunter?
Well, if you're screaming "glory" all the time, one could be tricked into thinking you're a glory hunter I guess.
