well Im sorry but have you maybe tougth that some people dont have the economic resourses to go to Italy and pay a ticket to go and watch a game?

Im a fan of Juventus, and the fact that I havent got the chance to watch a game of them or go to Delle Alpi idoes not make me a less fan than you.
Well, that sucks for you, however you simply didn't get the complete Juventus experience. So it doés make you less of a fan than me. That also means I'm less of a fan than the guys who are sitting there week in week out though.

What is a glory hunter anyways? If we dissect the word, we find two base root words: Glory and Hunter.. Hunter is one who shoots to kill.. Glory is, obviously, glory.. So, is it safe to say that a gloryhunter is one who kills glory?

I propose a new word to Webster.. To be introduced to the new dictionary alongside Podcast and thizzle: Gloryhugger..:toast:

EDIT: Oh, and, a quite similar glorymolester might make the cut, too :D

Were you stoned when you wrote that?:D

A Hunter is someone who hunts, therefore a glory hunter would be someone who hunts for glory. Just like a deerhunter hunts for deer. :eyebrows:

You are cheering for England, you are not supporting them.

Doth one have to be under influence of drugs to think? I think not ;)

Besides, a deerhunter isn't likely going after deer to pet them.. He shoots to kill..
I'd imagine eating a live deer (or even stuffing one) would require quite and acquired taste..

To some extent, yes. However, not everybody has the priviledge of living in the city of their choice, and if you travel to the said city to see matches then I believe it compensates for not living in Torino for instance.

-is someone who has never seen his team play in a stadium not a true fan?
Yes, and I guess I'm not a true fan yet. However, when you live in another country it's rather difficult to attend matches unless you have proper financial backing, and looking at the different situations of people it's hard to judge. Being a college student is not exactly the best situation for travelling abroad and attending a match, however if you are a true fan you must find a way to attend at least one match in your life time. But that's the breaks I suppose.

-is supporting a national team other than your own country 'glory hunting'?
Yes, but I believe there is one exception...when your nation is not taking part in the World Cup or competition you're watching. However, if you choose to support another nation besides your own at ALL times, then yes, I believe that is gloryhunting.

-is supporting multiple teams glory hunting?
Absolutely.

The only way to separate the gloryhuggers from the loyals is to first set a standard definition for gloryhunters/huggers...

However, with terms with such subjective answers such as this one, it's gonna be quite a doosie..

Supporting Juventus is no different than supporting the teams you mentioned.

What's wrong with supporting other national teams when your nations is in the same tournament? (Unless supporting another team is detrimental to you 'home' team)

I'll be supporting both Korea and Australia at the World Cup, but I also root for the Italian and Czech national teams. If the latter two teams win, I'm well aware that I have no case for grabbing any of the glory, since I have no association with those two countries whatsoever. So is it gloryhunting because I fancy different national taems?

well its like you always have a "backup plan", if italy fails, you choose czechs-s, if they fail you choose australia or korea or etc, eventually/or hopefully in your case, one of those teams will do well in world cup.
