He is not even one of the epic classic writers of french literature. I unvoluntarily know more then a dozen of the top dogs of their 17th century and beyond weirdos, remember their ugly mugs from the paintings and such. And you pick this somewhat obsecure mofo (though I think he is affliated Benjamin Constant who I know of), bah!

Hehe, not really, I checked the major players of Frenchies I know of, the big classics, mainly 18th-19th century, this guy seems to be from that time. But from what I was briefly taught, and know of the historically famous writers, this guy was never mentionned I think. There are non- big classic writers like that I heard of more then him.
Btw, he lived in the 18th century, why does he have such an ugly dated potrait? It seems like something out of the 14-15th century. Or he was just poor.
