If we're indeed looking for a winner we need not look any further:

How's that for bodyskill? :eyebrows:

The cross comes from behind, he has to look at the ball with his head turned away from his body while running to perfectly place himself for the shot ..

And when the ball drops, he magically twists his foot so that he manages to get a powerful enough shot off..

And it dips beautifully into the top corner.

Artistry! :touched:

Great but not as great as "The Zidane."

It's perfectly all right to have that opinion, because it is a great goal, but I have to disagree. Zidane knows where the ball is gonna drop and has already placed himself for the shot. The elegancy which he displays when he blasts the ball is still top notch, don't get me wrong. But this goal by Del Piero is virtually impossible to do. That's why I think it's better.

All Zidane had to do was hit it perfectly (and only a world class player could).
But Del Piero had to do more than that for his goal against Fiorentina.

Both goals are perfect because both players make the most out of the situations. I just think Del Piero's situation was a little bit more difficult, and that's why it gets my vote.

DP's goal against Monaco is in the top 100 goals of the CL thread. It is indeed breathtaking.

I know where bianconero is coming from, personally I think they are all beautiful goals and I never had one most beautiful goal, but the goal Zidane scored was the CL winner. Scoring such a beauty in the final game where the score stands level and we are reaching the end of the game is something. He scored a great goal and gave the team the trophy at the same time.

That indeed is something to take into consideration and I see your point, but if we're discussing the goals from a strictly esthetic viewpoint, would you agree that Del Piero's goal against Fiorentina would justify an investigation into him to find out once and for all if he comes from another planet? I mean, DAMN

you are all wrong, in terms of sheer technique i would have to say marco van basten against USSR was the most breathtaking strike i have ever seen

on a side note i remember a friendly game between fiorentina and monaco when trezegol did exactly the same but from the opposite side of goal

Actually, it was HIS point I presented :p

Personally, I don't have a favourite goal, I just said it but I admit that DP's goal against Fiorentina is HIS personal best.

Robert, Marco's strike against USSR is also something.

strange thing is i cant find anyone else who seen this goal from trez, it was something else
Do you mean the one when he shoots while still in the air? It powerfully goes into the top corner..

Unsure of the opponent as of now, but it has to be at least 4 years ago
