It's possible to compare Davids and DP ... not as players per se, but who matters(mattered) most to the team/who's absence will(did) affect us more etc.

Example: this year without Davids we suck as there isn't anyone on the team who could cover his position. DP's position on the other hand is not that hard to fill. Of course DP gives some flair to the game, but the one that's really important to us up-front is Nedved, like it or not. Since we got Nedved, did we missed DP when he wasn't playing? Nope, don't think so. Do we miss Davids? Hell yeah!

Even if DP wouldn't be so injured and would play I still think David's absence would be felt more rather than DP's presence being seen.

davids didn't want to stay here.he dreamed roma but moggi gave him to barca.davids is a betrayer..and m_elayyan u compare our symbol with a betrayer...yeah..davids is nice but he wanted to leave juve.is it dp fault?
we all know that alex fergusen likes ale too much and we all know that a few years ago he wanted to bring ale to old traford.but alex remained.some times i think some of u guys don't deserve alex at all.

That is true, Davids is a versatile and it's rare to find players like the Pitbull. His absence is sorely missed.

On the other hand, I for one have other definitions of Del Piero's "presence" - I have always felt Juve have been more somehow rather 'spiritual' when Del Piero is around, they play with more charisma and spirit.

So for moi, Davids is sorely missed in terms of football play on the field, but Del Piero gives more than just good football. It's his spirit that drives the team.

Gosh I've been doing too much pro-DP discussions :stress:

I am not camparing them based on their positions , i know that they play in different locations , i am comparing based on their contribution and effort to the team:(
Imo Del Piero contributes more to this Juve team than practically everyone. It may not always be from performances, but his leadership alone is a great contribution. The club also earns alot from his Adidas sponsorship, as well as shirt sales and other merchandise. But what are you trying to get at? Are you hinting that it would've been better to part with DP rather than Davids? If so, I disagree with you.

we can buy another defens mid ;)
For the price he was probably asking for, I'm positive we could find someone worthy there. It's now on Moggi's shoulders.
