btw, which rasmussen you're talking about, found couple of them, nothing impessive at first glance.

and how much can be kompany worth?

rasmussen plays for a team called OB iirc.

i'm in 2007 and his value is 6 mil €, but when i bought him in the start of the game he cost me 12 mil € :frown:

Fliakis, I've had two of my players hit the dizzy heights of about £9.5m in value at a Brazilian club. This was when they were both playing for Brazil. After that, they dropped to £7m.

The point about Brazil is, you don't need tons of money, you can get some supremely talented players for peanuts. I had one striker, who I bought for £350k (half my transfer budget) who scored ~60 goals in ~50 appearances in the Second Division. It wasn't the same when I hit the First Division obviously, but he was close to the top goal scorer (Roncatto of course). What's more, I gained my team about £8m in less than three years winning three consecutive leagues, mostly with players no one's ever heard of (with the exceptions of Thiago from Cruzeiro and a few others).
You can also get some useful players for less than £100k, which is a lot for some clubs but the players are worth it (often I'd follow the news and outbid my competitors). Also their wages are not too troubling.

In short, money is far less important in the Brazilian leagues than elsewhere because there are so many bargains and talented cheap players.

Kompany is 20 in my game right now, Anderlecht want £15m for him. Somehow, I think not. I just bought Ferronetti for £2.1m and have a few decent defenders left over. I also still have £52m to spend, from sales of Brighi (£5m), Trez (£30m), DP (£9m). I don't know how to improve:

    ------------------Buffon--------------
    -----Fabao----Cassani---Legro---
    Zamb-----------------------Denilson
    ----------Appiah---Blasi--------------
    ---------------Nedved-----------------
    ---------Miccoli-----Roncatto---------

Fabao, Legro have arrows to left/right back.
Zamb, Denilson are DM R/L running to AM R/L
Nedved running up to support strikers.

    Subs/Cover:
GK: Dias, Neri (young and useful keepers), Curci
Def: Iuliano (yuck), Montero (still good), Zanchi, Guichard, Gomez, Tudor, Ferronetti.
Mid: Tachi, Edu, Maresca, da Silva Santos (in Jan), Couto (Portuguese DM), Kristiansen.
Strikers: Jurado, Gasbaroni, Pozzi, Stefan Moore.

Some of the substitutes are not that great, but I don't want to buy too much quality for the bench, despite masses of money.
My plan is to phase out Nedved (now 34) for Edu/da Silva Santos next season.
Miccoli is having trouble scoring whereas Jurado is doing well.
Gasbarroni has versatility, unfortunately this leaves him on the bench quite often.
I'd like to buy at least one more solid defender. I'm thinking of Balitsch who I can get for about £13m. Either that, or take the plunge and sign Puyol who will cost masses I bet.

if you'd spend £13m for that balitsch guy, why dont you spend £15m for Kompany?

Can you guys reccomend a good right back? I've been playing Zambi there for a year and a half and he's absolute shite. He's never been great, and is one of the worst rated players in my team. In my 5-3 win over Lazio when all players had 7s, 8s or 9s, he had a 5. To top that off, Cesar, who was playing on Zambi's flank, had a goal and an assist.

Anyways, I'm in February of 2005 now, and I'm going to sell him at the end of the season. I need a good replacement. my first choices would be mancini or Puyol, but since that aint happening, I was looking at Brett Emerton from Blackburn, he seems promising. I also signed an 18 year old welsh right back called powell something for 4 mil €. He's already had 11 caps, and 10 assists in the Premier league. I'm taking a gamble on him, I'm hoping he'll justify my faith in him. I've left him in the U20s, and I'm probably gonna loan him out next season.

Botom line, can you reccomend a good right back?

the absolute best right - back in the game is Mancini. good luck in getting him though coz it aint gonna happen. when i had juve i used either mancini or bonera or thuram. when at fiorentina i used di livio and later on Zebina.

I think I'll go for Brett Emerton. He has good stats, good performances and my scouts say he'd instantly command a place in the team. I'll see if I can sell Zambi first, noone wants him. :undecide:

Or is it Foglio? Foglio is good indeed, I have him in my U20s. He's great offensivly but a liability on D.

Anyways, I've had Hinkel a few times, as parma, Fiorentina and Chelsea and he's never impressed me. Just like Foglio, he's not that good on D.

I'll monitor Brett Emerton until the end of the season, but there is a 90% chance that he will be my replacement for Zambrotta.

I think his name is Padoin or something, he's solid replacement, I'm thinking of buying him as a replacement for Thuram but my own youngster Stefanini is improving rapidly so I think I'll give my youngster a chance to prove himself first

    Padoin is quality.

The reason I'm not sure about taking the plunge with Kompany is that I could use some dependable back-up, true quality, right now I'm not sure if Kompany fills that roll or if he's one for the future. I know that Balitsch would be the man for the position.

I'm following Emerton as well. Currently I'm playing 3-4-1-2 but I want to go back to a 4 man defence next season so I need a back-up RB for Bonera. For LB I've already arranged deals for Evra and Chiellini. I'm also getting Stipe Pletikosa from Chievo.

Btw, is Milito better in a back four than he is in a back three because right now Milito is sucking. My 6 centre backs are Bonera, Mexes, Ujfalusi, Ferrari, Legrottaglie and Gabriel, but since I'm going back to a 4 man defence next season I'll only be needing 4 centre backs. Bonera will play RB so that's five which means one of my CBs has to leave. Legro is the obvious option but I just wanted to consult with you guys who have coached Milito before.
