i had birindelli too in my team, and he has been one of the best defenders in italy. stu, why did you sign bonera when you could sign hinkel for free aswell.

zlatan, is toledo better than gasbarroni or not?

gasbarroni is great so far.

so you can buy as many non-eu players as you want if they already play in italy?

birindeli is amazing. i got your advice and kept him. playing at RB with average of 8.00. too bad trablesi is comin in january
trabelsi sucks, keep birindelli

i started a game with santos, and took over juve in my second season. all those who are usually "signed for free" had contract extensions. which is great. its nice to sign good players when your bank is empty but now the game is much more interesting. and i will have to go through qualification round in the champions league :D

Yeah, for me he is. The think that makes Toledo great is his combination of skills, he has dribbling 20, crossing 19, pace 20 and acceleration 20, so he's a perfect winger, he can pass any player. I remember when he made a fool of Nesta, had assists when I beat MIlan 3-0. He can also score from the wings. I use Gasabaronni as a backup for Toledo, but you can also play one of them on the left.

And yes, you can sign as many non eu players if they already pplay in Italy. For example, you can signe Samuel, emerson, Mancini, Kaka, Toledo, etc all in one season.

I didn't know that I could get Hinkel for free and by the time yuall told me he had already signed a new contract with Stuttgart.

i bought him in 2004/2005 season. strange, he had a minimum fee release clause of 6 mil, and then i offered parma 6.25 and they had to accept, so i signed him.
I just did the same thing :) I offered 16.5m and they accepted but he chose Parma's contract offer rather than mine and when I checked back he had a 4.8m buy-out clause.

I'm a bit messed up though. I now have Bonera, Lucio, Ferrari, Mexes, Burdisso and Legrottaglie. One has to go, no doubt. I think I'll try to loan Burdisso...

@Zlatan: I can't get de la Cuesta because I've already purchased a non-EU player this season.

My first season is now complete :)

I did the double by retaining Serie A and beating Newcastle 2-1 in the CL final. I had the opportunity to win all three trophies available to me but Inter got the better of us in the Coppa final, 1-0 on aggregate.

DP scored 34 goals in total and was Player of the Year. Thuram was Defender of the Year, and both of them were members of the Team of the Year.

Holland triumphed over France 1-0 to win Euro 2004.

Trezeguet is now valued at 56m so I'm just waiting for offers.

Real Madrid have taken Athirson on loan with the option to buy at the end of the season so I need a left back. Who is good (besides de la Cuesta) and within the EU regulations?

then i should try to sign him.
i wanted to make an offer for reyes, when i saw that his contract is not protected. i made him an offer and he accepted. i'll sign him for free at the end of the season. can i use him as the LM?

but there's a problem : i have rothen as LM, and i will sign Pischulici and Reyes at the end of the season. so should i sell rothen and keep pischulici and reyes, or what do you say?

UPDATE :

just 6 more games to go on serie a. i have played 32 games, and milan have player 34. i am 2 pts ahead milan at the top of the table. i have suffered 5 defeats in the league so far.

i've beaten chelsea away in the CL semifinal, and now have home pitch advantage. my only worry is henry's injury : he'll be out for the rest of the season. i am very surprised by roncatto's form, he is playing great, and i am feeling henry's absence.

Evra has a 9 mil € release clause, so you can try him, altho if I were you I'd play Zambi there and Toledo in the right wing, but for me Athirson was fantastic.

@Arif: Yah, Reyes is a winger in the game, not a forward as they use him in Arsenal, and to top it off he's the best winger in the world. And yes, I had Reyes as a first team winger and Pisculichi as his sub, and it worked perfectly for me. Also, if you need a young playmaker try Patricio Perez from Velez, he's always the best assist man in the Argentinian league. One season he had 10 goals and 34 assists in 30 games for velez, altho yoiu'll have to wait for him to adapt a bit. He's great at set pieces, takes great corners. You can get him for some 3-4 mil €. Also, if you need a good and cheap striker try Cesar Carignano, he's also great. Sadly, they are both non-eu. On a smiliar note, D'Alessandro has an Italian passport, so you can sign him, altho you'll have to offer some 40 mil € for him. Also try Ujfalusi, he becomes a world class defender in the second season, but he's expensive, 35 mil €.

Anyways, I've played just 13 games of Serie B so far, and I'm second, with only one 3-2 loss when I had two of my defenders, Alpay and Vargas, red carded. Palermo is first, but I just beat them 2-1 so they are only 2 points ahead. I'm glad to say I have the best attack pairing in the league, Benjamin and Pazzini, so far they have loads of goals together, Pazzini already has two hattricks, while Onwuachi has one hattrick and scored 4 in my 9-0 win over Cagliari.

I played Reggina in the Italian cup, I was down 3-1 after the first match, but I managed to beat them 5-0 at home and now I'm playing Milan.

I do play Zambrotta at LB. I'm looking for a back-up since Birindelli, Pessotto and Athirson have left.

And I can't find Evra just yet because I'm on a quick start game :wallbang: When I search for Patrice Evra I don't find anyone.

How about RB? I'll be needing one if I sell Thuram...

finished my second season with juve and won the famous treble.
you cant believe what an interesting summer was. i had a numerous offers for my players, and a transfer sale record was broken twice during this time. first, i sold trezeguet to real madrid for an amazing offer of 66 mil. then sold henry to inter for 75 mil!!!.
after i got two LMs, i decided to sell rothen, and i sold him to chelsea for 30 mil.
also sold maxwell to chelsea for 11.25 mil.
these were my sellings.
after the finish of the season, i got reyes for 14 mil, montolivo for 9 mil, pazzini for 15 mil, pischulici for 7 mil, alpay for 1.1 mil etc.
after selling trez, i signed gilardino from parma for 25 mil. then after selling henry i got adriano also from parma for 25 mil. got also chiellini for 16K :).

my first game against inter in the supercup final : my team was playing good, till the 70th minute, when appiah sent inter to the lead 1:0. then reyes scored a supergoal from about 25 yards to level 1:1.
the game got to ET. gasbarroni scored on the 99th minute for del piero to level again at 2:2 in the 104th minute. then second ET was a nightmare for
inter. first pazzini scored to give juve a lead of 3:2 and then kapo scored for a final result of 4:2.

my current team (4-1-3-2) :

Buffon

Hinkel - Mexes - Kompany - Chiellini

De Rossi

Gasbarroni - Kapo - Reyes

Adriano - Gilardino

Yeah, thats what I'd do.

Reyes scored in his first game? What did I tell you mate? ;)

Like I said, I really have tried out loads and loads of players so I know who's good and who's not.

P.S. Gilardino was never specially good for me, I'd play Pazzini with Adriano if I were you. Also, did you get Toledo?

@Stuart: Right back? Hmmm, that a tough one, there arent a lot of good right backs out there. I usually play Zambrotta there, but he isnt really good unless you order him to push waaay forward. Mancini is also great, but it's really hard to get him, ad if you're looking for someone cheap, Atalantas Valerio Foglio was great for me, altho he's a bit shaky on the defensive side. On the other hand, he always gets plenty assists.

BTW, this was my Juve team, when I was still playing with Juve:

Code:
     Zlatan Trezeguet

          D'Alessandro

Reyes Toledo

             Appiah

Evra Lucio Ujfalusi Zambrotta

              Buffon

On the bench I have Bonnefoi, Coco, Gambri, Bonera, Collocini, Dawson, Espinal, Gasabarroni, De Rossi, Montolivo, Maresca, Perez, Pazzini, Fernando Torres, Milan Baroš, Cerci.

I've never had a player score 30+ goals, I always try to rotate my players, I want everyone to play at least 20 matches during the season, even the subs. I once played all my CL matches until the semis with the B team, and I usually give the B team a go in the Cup and in the league when I have an important match afterwards, and I want to rest my players. But now with Atalanta I've only used 15 players in the first half of the season :D

Forget about an RB, I'm gonna keep Thuram as Bonera's sub, but I still need a leftie. De la Cuesta is out of the question as he's non-EU and I can't get Evra. Shall I try Giorgio Chiellini?

Dont know, never tried him and his stats arent anything special. Play Zambi there, it's easier to find a good winger than it is to find a good full back.

Are you deaf or you just can't hear? I need a back-up for Zambrotta because Athirson is at Real, Pessotto at Chievo and Birindelli at Sociedad :groan:
