smith isnt really the same style player as gila, but as u said one of them is sufficient.

But smith is class, a forwards dream partner..he can do everything and will run all day.

I think that Smith would be a good replacement for Di Vaio, not because they play the same, but Smith would help the team more, and Gila is probably a replacement for Trez.

smith?
i think he's better in DM position
he tackels the ball pretty well
No, he's a striker. He may tackle well, but that's just an extra when compared to his scoring and passing abilities. He is a very complete player, but he's best used at the forward position.

As I mentioned earlier you should have checked out his scoring stats before. He scored 11goals four years ago, since then 13 in three years (3,4 and 6, but this season is not yet finished, so may he brake the magical 10 barrier again). Come on, he is scoring every once in a while in the EPL!!!

Thats why I suggested to try him as a dm, and as I see It wasnt only me.

He does play for Leeds. So, that has to be taken into account. Also, this is his first season as a constant first-team starter.
-He was already a constant starter three years ago. -Yes he's in Leeds, so he's playing against EPL defs. A striker should scrore more than 3 times in 33 apps, it cannot be just the teams foult. source: www.leedsfans.org.uk/leeds/players/518.html

Smith isnt an out and out striker for lleds, he goes wide midfield, even central midfield for leeds this season and the last. He only on odd occasion actually plays in his natural role upfront as a proper striker, rather than a striker that comes deep to help defend.

Keep Trez, buy Gilardino(isnt he already ours?) or Cavenaghi
Keep Del Piero, buy Tevez
sell DYO, even sell Miccoli

Buy a world class midfielder (I have no idea)
Buy Perrotta

Keep Thuram, buy Mexes
Buy a good side-back

sell: Montero, Iuliano, Tudor

Wake up to yourself, Del Piero and Trez aren't gonna be around forever. Miccoli is our future, I hope he stays and does awesome things for us.

So we're gonna buy 1 defender and sell 3?

Dude, as bad as our defence is, with these players at least we can field enough defenders to compete in a match. We can't just blindly sell defenders who we think are crap without finding suitable replacements :sigh:

-They aren't gonna be forever, but I found it too risky to change both, it would be more clever to buy two realy good young replacement, one for each (Tevez for DP, Gila or Cave for Trez). Thats what we did when we had Trez and Pippo at the same time.

-Micco is very easy to love, I like him too, but he isnt as good as a DP follover should be (surprisingly he isnt so young, he is already 24, Tevez just 20)

-I would buy 2 defs: Mexes+ a side-back (a guy who is defending on the side ;) ) and yes I would sell those 3 couse they no use at all.
I would start with Thuram-Mexes in center Zambro and Idunno on the sides. Leg on the bench with Biri and Pes. May one cd missing from the bench, but none of that three.

 I suppose that you'll be putting up the fifty million pounds that would cost.
