when I try to open a flash file, there's only sound, and when I try fast forward a bit, the program goes crazy and does not respond...though only with flash files.

works fine here (not windows). I guess it's because you don't have the right codec for flash..

Not sure about the codecs, but same file is working fine with GOM and Real player..

Again; MPC HomeCinema, plays everything superbly without the need for any codecs.
