Indian food is good in a couple of areas around here:

    #1: South Bay
#2: A couple harder-to-find places in SF (I prefer Pakwan, not Shalimar -- it's more No. Indian/Pakistani -- and Indian Oven on Fillmore near Haight)

    Just north of Stockton.

We go to dance competitions in SJ...I love that town. If I couldn't live here (I'm a country boy, really), and I had to live in a California big city--it'd be San Jose.

This place in specific is old school and good. I liked it a lot more than I expected. I sat right behind then-mayor Willie Brown in there once. Talk about an entourage, and he will not eat at anything to shabby either. ;)

    Awesome list:

Brunello di Montalcino: Castello Banfi...great stuff and not ridiculously priced like, say, Gaja

Barolo...used to like it more. Has more trouble breathing than a one lunged emphysemic

    Chianti

Ah, my new love. All awesome. Great stuff from $10-60 here (probably $3-$20 there...sigh

    Fav's

    Banfi--yup, them again
    Badia Coltibuono
    Fantodi
    and that ever illusive

Fattoria del Teso....my grandfather worked the vines. I have looked in the US for it for over 20 years. Saw it an Italian restaurant in SF once, and didn't think to ask

Anyone know where I can get it in the US?

Nice list you spoiled brat ;)

Currently the part of my collection worth mentioning is:

    Tignanello (4 bottles) 2: 1997's and 2 2000's.
    Tenuta San Guido, Sassicaia, 1999.
    Guado al Tasso Antinori: 2000.
    Barbaresco (Angelo Gaya!)

My favorite wine remains the Montepulciano's (Abruzzo) which in my opinion beats any wine 'pound for pound' (price and quality)..

oh dont worry, its a proccess.

try something like white wine and sprite and then as you go throw in more wine and less sprite
its not that i cant drink it i just dont like it. i far prefer a bottle of tequila :D

white wine is alright, but red is :yuck:
