I just finished eating a pomegranate. Which explains why I practically haven't been able to post here for the past 24 hours...

Exactly! Half of what I was wearing got splattered red and has since turned purple.

I believe pomegranates are originally from around Iran. I have a Persian friend here in SF who makes a mean Khoreshteh Fesenjãn -- basically a chicken dish with walnuts and pomegranate sauce. :lick:

i had chicken with pomegranate sauce as well. there were some other things on the menu ill try some other time. also, when ordering from a new curry house that opened down town, i was surprised to find they serve goat meat

aside from the mess, i think you expend more energy trying to get oute one pomegranate seed than you obtain from the entire fruit itself

Latinos in SF still don't believe me when I tell them there are Mexican taco joints in Chicago that have been serving goat meat as an option since the 80s.

It's kind of like celery that way. Except celery won't give you arthritis.

What next? A lobster cheeseburger?

And yes, caviar is overrated. Same with roe in general -- I don't like it in my sushi either.

I think there's also an embargo on beluga caviar now in the U.S. due to sturgeon overfishing in the Caspian Sea.

There's a Russian who now does it in the US.

    I don't mind caviar, actually.

    You wanna talk over-rated? Truffles.
