It's normal that when fans see Man City and Chelsea buying players for stupid money they want a piece of it too. What happens further down the line with those clubs is another matter.
In the time I follow football I can think of three clubs bought by very rich people putting loads of money in the team. City, Chelsea and AC Milan.
One of them won 5 CLs and played 8 CL finals in those 25 years with the rich owner at the helm. The second one is functioning pretty well for some 8 years now and for the third one we're yet to see what happens.
So far we don't have a negative experience with very rich people buying their own football club, we only have negative predictions for the future by the fans of clubs who aren't owned by such a rich man.

:agree:

Lets see how guys here react once Roma is brought by a rich owner + they dominate the league (or atleast the CL spots) in the coming years. On the other hand, we keep our prestige and struggle to qualify for that competition for many years.

Yeah so much for tradition

Idk about rich buyers anymore just because of UEFA cracking down on this subject putting regulations against Rich clubs now raping smaller clubs for promising players. Still wouldn't mind though to have a Rich oil Tycoon though, just want Tamoil back so we have plenty of transfer funds again. Tamoil remember we had the most expensive shirt sponsor in history of futbol so far.

I would be happy if there was a rich buyer that bought perhaps a part of the club, not necessarily selling the whole club to someone.

Berlusconi is a different matter to the others and you know why.

I'd take 10 years of lotsamoney, but I'm looking further ahead.
Yes, the difference being that he needed it for his political career. But the manner in which Berlu worked at the start was exactly the same as Abramovich and Abu Dhabi group did it. Buying everything for twice more than what the others could offer.
Now, who's to say that Abramovich will get tired of Chelsea? He seems passionate enough, follows the club all the time...he became a fan. Just like you and me, with the difference being that he has the money to improve the team he supports.

Personally I'd be more worried if we're bought by some Americans who don't even know much about football, who own 10 other teams in 10 different sports and will hardly ever come to watch our matches, using us to make some profit. I'd have no problem with enthusiastic rich man buying us.

Of course I agree, Alen, enthusiastic rich men who are in it for the longer term.
That's something that can't be guaranteed, simply because the man could die a year after he buys Juve and his children might not be so enthusiastic as he is :D
This scenario is very likely in Milan's case for example. In Inter's case Moratti junior inherited his father's passion for the team so it ended well for them. In Milan's case it doesn't seem that way for now (I'll look for an interview of Berlusconi's daughter from a couple of years ago...)

What happens to Man City if the Sheikh leaves tomorrow?
