You voted in the poll and it took 3 seconds and now it's all over. Let's do something that can last a little longer.

Are you learning a language right now? Tell us about it.

Doesn't matter how. In school, language class, on your own, just watching movies hoping to understand something... Did you start learning one, then stop and now you wish you hadn't stopped? That's okay too. If you're taking a 10 year break you still qualify.

And if you're not, but you'd like to begin, you're still in.

Go.

So how is that going? How are you learning and how is your progress?

Actually, its going ok. I know a lot of Swedish since I lived here for 4 years (although that was almost 15 years ago), so I can understand most of what I read, although I have more problems understanding people speak in damn Skane :D

Should be a bit better when I get a TV to listen to Swedish more, since all my communication in the university is done in English, and I rarely get a chance to listen to Swedish.

So I think it will take a few months to get fully up to speed.

Cool. I love the sound of Swedish myself, I recently started reading a few books in Swedish and Danish.

I started to teach myself Italian a few months ago, but I had to stop so I could use that time for other studying. Not like I'm spending any time studying anyway.

I'm learning Italian. A friend of a friend of mine is Italian and a certified teacher for foreigners.

    I'm in level 2, now.

Why? Because I love the language and the country, and I wish I could work there one day. Hopefully, I'm going to Milan in the spring for a semester in a university called Bocconi.

    Mmm, let me think.

    Present tense, mainly.

I covered a lot of verbs. All prepositions. Lots of other stuff. I'm using a book called "Rete 1". Also, the crappy wannabe Tuttosport sites help me alot along with vecchiasignora forums.

In the coming 2-3 months, I'm expecting to have learned to communicate freely, using past, present and future.

I was on vecchiasignora for a little while. I had nothing to say about Juve, just trying to find random conversations I could join. But outside of football those people didn't seem to share any of my interests, so after a few days I left.

How about us? Do we share your interests Mart? :dule:

I used to know how to speak Melayu back when i was in Malaysia, but that was over 10 years ago, and believe it or not, i completely forgot the language, and i literally mean completely forgot, i don't even know how to say "how are you doing" anymore. But thats because i'm not even interested in relearning that language again.

I do want to learn a third language though, but there isn't much time.

How old are you, about 20? Suppose you live until 80, that gives you 60 years. Believe me, that's plenty of time.

I keep playing around with the idea of learning Chinese, but it would likely take 2-3 years just to be able to get something out of the language and I don't really want it that much anyway.
