Thought this might be a fun thing to do.. Everyone post what their names mean... It would make for a wonderful cultural stew, so to speak..

I'll begin:

Nawaf: tbh, I don't know what my parents were on when they were naming me.. My name has no apparent meaning, or I can't find one.. However, a quick search through some not-so-trusted sites indicates that my name means
"High; Lofty"

Erik - Scandinavian and means "Honourable ruler"

I don't know what that means but I was named after my grandfather who passed away when I was 1 year old and I have a suspicion I'm disappointing him in achieving that particular fine piece of destiny...

Mine (Greg, or "Gregory") I believe translates to the "watchful one". That really deserves to go to Zlatan instead of me.

So I'll stick with swag: "S%#tty Wild Ass Guess". :D

Aaron:From the Hebrew name Aharon which is most likely of unknown Egyptian origin. Other theories claim a Hebrew derivation, and suggest meanings such as "high mountain" or "exalted". In the Old Testament Aaron was the older brother of Moses and the first high priest of the Israelites.

Lily (Lilliana): Simply means "lily" from the name of the flower, a symbol of purity. The word is ultimately derived from Latin lilium.

Lazy people, the lot of you.. :D
