@s4tch For some reason I can't quote posts (using Mac seems to be an issue lol). It was just a regular short trip since both girl and I had some days off plus it was her birthday so we decided to hit the road. I really loved it. It was recommended by many people that I know and honestly it's not that distant from my town, although the traffic and boarder with Hungary seems to be a pain in the ass all the time. But I really loved the city man. Plenty of great memories were gathered. We also went to visit Szentendre which has Serbian history behind it and it was a lovely place. It's gonna be great when they finish the railroad since it'll take like 2 hours to get to Budapest.

Economically I'd say pretty okay. There are jobs and median income is high. Belgians are among the richest people in the world. If you add in social security, I think some economists rank us in the top 5. Real estate is expensive, but cheaper here than in the Netherlands.
As for immigration I don't really know. I think it's fairly easy to come here and integrate if you have a job. If you come here without a job offer and without the necessary documents, I'm not sure it's the easiest place to live. One major issue I feel is the language, especially in the Dutch speaking part. We do speak Dutch, but the accent is thick and varies wildly from place to place. Sometimes it's almost a different language, like Neapolitan to Italian. You may learn standard Dutch and you will be able to express yourself, but it takes years to really understand the people around you.
