Just returned back home from 12 days in Peru. Spent most of the time in Lima, Ollantaytambo, and Cusco. Machu Picchu was certainly pretty cool, but perhaps not as amazing as I expected it to be. I'm sure if I was time machined back in the 15th century I would think otherwise. But I thoroughly enjoyed Miraflores and Barranco in Lima - I could easily live in the former. Fantastic restaurants, bars, and surfing. Will definitely go back.
