I had heard truck drivers get away with a lot more than you might think because of the major shortage of them
That's not as easy any longer, though. This year they started a Federal Mandate to have all trucks tracked. When they start up, speed, operating time, everything.

Most of the time, they do. The ones that don't have medical issues, normally.

Pilots have to be in relatively good health with great vision and have to be extremely intelligent. Truck Drivers, conversely, don't have to be intelligent, but you have to be able to get and hold a CDL. In the US, at least, that means if you have diabetes, you're out, ever had a moving violation greater than a simple speeding ticket; like a DUI, reckless driving, at-fault car accidents..... you're out. Can't pass a Federal DOT physical or DOT Drug & Alcohol test? You're out, too.

Plus, it's not "easy" to be a truck driver in large urban centers, it's a country-boy job.
I don't know anything about the requirements to be a pilot but that makes sense. Always wanted to look into that.

You could have diabetes and get a CDL. I could see cost being an issue though, just heard some guy talking about how he spent $1,400 for his. Having to provide a truck is kinda bullshit. Pretty sure there are programs that can help with that, at least in New York. The test is a bitch, especially if you get a bad instructor, but I mean if I could get one driving through the streets of Brooklyn with retards jumping out on every corner, surely someone in the suburbs can too.

Not being able to smoke weed is a big deal for some too, so there's that I guess.

You can only get a CDL class 2 if you have Beetus, Class 1 is a no go.

So, you can drive a school bus, but not chemicals. lol

how do you know so much about trucking?
When I wasn't on the forum for all those years, I managed, assisted running, and was the CFO of four companies. One was trucking, one was O&G NDT, one was a Real Estate Umbrella and one was a Tubular Goods Manufacturer.

i grew up 16 years in uruguay, we werent rich or poor but there were some tough times. these times create strong, humble and family oriented men.
my father would tell me about the europeans he met and he was almost never wrong.
nearly every european I've met has been arrogant and full of themselves

@Post Ironic damn bro. I didn't know the wokeism situation was that bad in Canada.

You know it's bad bad when mainstream media makes a documentary on it.

Wokeism is more about self hate than woke people realise. Sad that so many people with mental problems will fall for this, you really see the vacuum effect.

I also find it crazy that apparently is all about acceptance, until you have an opposite opinion.
