Im at Disney world right now which seems to be where these types all congregate
It's not DisneyWorld, it's an Obesity Convention.

Or a Lizzo concert.

I always tell the same to my family in Italy; an average Italian family (especially in the south) will basically always eat Italian. If you look to an average Dutch family they’ll eat Italian, Chinese, some Caribbean and Indonesian food along with Dutch food over the course of a few weeks. That already shows the differences.
Yeah, but Italians have deep-seeded obsessions with their digestive system. Everything is careful, deliberate, and regulated. Every ingredient is visible.

On the one hand, I admire them. They approach their food and their gut health like Jeffrey Epstein approached high school cheerleaders. But it can border a bit on superstitious voodoo at times.

I've noticed a common theme in the UK: people expect the government to help them with everything.

Don't know if it's their history of collectivism or their culture of entitlement. Maybe a bit of both. Makes me disgusted sometimes.

What sort of things are you talking about?
Can't really remember right now as I don't pay attention to ridiculous conversations (and I'm sure I've heard worse than what I'm about to mention) but things like people expecting free childcare after parental leave is over, more and better council housing, subsidies for home insulation, more mental health support (I know there are people who need this but most people are just lonely and anxious, the government ain't gonna save you, you have to save yourself).

Perhaps it's only the dumb broke people and young people who don't understand what deficit does to a country but I've noticed it more.

A sidenote on nursery/care home fees: also noticed that people aren't as close to their family and therefore less willing to look after their elderly. Families also don't tend to stick together and end up scattered around the country. Having more support from family would surely lower these costs and demand for these services.

Or maybe I am oversensitive because I never expected anything from the Bolivian government.

I noticed a common theme from them, too. Invade everyone, kill the indigenous peoples, take what is needed, get angry when they don't suck your dead queen off, or want to come hang out in LUN DEHN.
