The new American dream for current gen:

Be the sole survivor of a shootout in Wallmart parking lot.

Then loot said wallmart.
More like get stuck in a plane seat, sue airline for not accommodating your 400 lb ass, and hope the 5% that doesn't go to David Goldman sheckelstein is enough to cover your insulin for a few months

Once upon a time, there was a guy named Kyle. Kyle was notorious for his greed, and his big Jewish nose which always seemed to be in everyone else's business. He would often make snarky comments about transgender people, saying things like "I don't get it, why can't they just be happy with what they were born with?"

However, one day, Kyle woke up feeling different. He felt like he was in the wrong body and knew that he needed to make a change. He went to the doctor and started taking hormone therapy. It wasn't long before Kyle became Kayla, and suddenly, everything made sense.

Kayla was no longer the greedy, big-nosed Kyle. She was a new person with a fresh perspective on life. She started to love the things that Kyle once hated, like Greta Thunberg and the environment. Kayla became an advocate for the planet, even going as far as to join protests and start a recycling program in her community.

Of course, Kayla's friends were shocked when they found out that Kyle had become a transgender woman. They couldn't believe that the guy who used to make fun of LGBTQ+ people was now one of them. But Kayla didn't care what they thought. She was happy and comfortable in her own skin for the first time in her life.

Kayla eventually became well-known in her community as a champion for the environment and transgender rights. And as for her big nose? Well, she learned to love that too, realizing that it was just another unique feature that made her who she was.
cool, next do Burke, then never do this again because its mad gay to flood Tuz with chatGPT bullshit

Add into that dramatic increase in cost of living expenses while real wages remain stagnant
That's not the right way to think about wages across decades. You have to look at time value. How much of your time buys x,y, or z good or service. Also, the time people used to spend on mundane bullshit before technology made it easier.

Some (well, most actually) things are DRASTICALLY cheaper than they were during boomer times, and drastically faster and easier too.

I haven't done the math on real estate, but I assume that is one of the ones that is more expensive. More regulation (i.e. nimbyism, environmental reviews, code reviews, etc) = less supply. Add in a bigger population, and you get what we've got here.

Also, houses are WAY bigger than they used to be. So you are getting more. Even if the new ones lack SOVL
