I'm actually dumbfounded that people don't see this as a natural outcome, not an unlucky thing like someone just lost the lottery.

When you have HIV and it turns towards AIDS, you pick up every bug possible like a Hoover vacuum: pneumonia, candidiasis, hand-foot-and-mouth disease, leprosy, heartworms, rabies, you name it.

Back in the '90s when I did a temp job doing data entry for the first AIDS patients using AZT for Burroughs Wellcome's HQ in RTP, NC (this was before HIPAA :shifty:) I got to see the detailed medical records of every AIDS patient on AZT. Their immune systems were like magnets.

I didn’t buy into the hype of their ginger beer or rum.

We went to a local festival where we did enjoy these Portuguese donuts. Absolutely delightful after some local street fare

Probably there they are called "malassadas"? That's the name for donuts on the Azores island of São Miguel.

The other Azores islands call them "filos". In the continent, they sometimes call them rosquinas fritas.

"Donut" in Portuguese is like saying "snow" in Eskimo.
